The FLYUP™ will be made in the USA, as we are proud to help bring manufacturing back to the Midwest. Of course, we will ship all over the world too. But, in order to take the FLYUP™ from prototype to production, we need your support to help us purchase the tooling.

When many people see the FLYUP™ they wonder how it is different from using something like a towel or furniture sliders. Well, we are glad you asked! The main difference is the addition of the handles, which not only allows for dozens of additional exercises, but also prevent injury to your joints and wrists compared to using a furniture slider with no handles. Another benefit is that the handles add about 4 inches of elevation to allow you to go deeper in your movements, working the entire muscle for a more effective workout. Finally, the FLYUP™ is made of premium materials that give you a more natural movement compared to alternatives. The super slick base of the FLYUP™ slides on more surfaces than a towel or furniture mover and it resists wear much better.
Another product that people liken the FLYUP™ to is the TRX Suspension Trainer. The FLYUP™ and the TRX allow the user to do many of the same movements. However, we do not see these two products as substitutes but as complements. We love the TRX! However, there are some benefits to the FLYUP™ over the TRX. Many people don’t own a TRX at home because they are more expensive and don’t have the same type of setup as a gym. The FLYUP™ is about one-sixth of the cost of a TRX and it is much more portable and easy to setup when you travel.

The FLYUP™ is capable of doing both functional fitness training (multiple muscles/joints at once) and isometric training (single joint movement) to meet the goals and needs of all individuals who are looking to stay fit. The FLYUP™ can do over 35 different exercises, and this number grows by the week as we develop new movements using the FLYUP™ to work your entire body. Additionally, the FLYUP™ can be used on both your hands and feet at the same time to do advanced functional training like an atomic pushup, an atomic FLYUP, or mountain climber pushups. The FLYUP™ can be modified by doing movements on your knees or by using one side of the body at a time (unilateral movement), so that it can be used by the beginner, the advanced athlete, and everyone in between.
Production Plan Details:
Tooling and Part Manufacturer Sourcing – FLYUP Fitness has teamed with engineers and materials specialists throughout the design of the FLYUP™. We have utilized these relationships to determine the exact materials we need, and we have already lined up the right manufacturer to produce the FLYUP™ according to the highest standards.
Packaging (December 2013) – The packaging design will be finalized to match our branding and highlight the design of this portable fitness product. Final sourcing of all packaging materials will be completed.
Cutting the tools (January 2014) – The steel tooling for the FLYUP™ will be cut at the end of January by the manufacturer that we have lined up to partner with.
Manufacturing Qualification (February 2014) – “First shots” will occur in February so we can validate that the tooling and parts are crafted within the defined specifications and tolerances. Normal debugging will occur to make sure that the FLYUP™ is 100% awesome.
Begin Manufacturing (February 2014) – After the tooling is perfect, we will begin manufacturing the FLYUP™. Assembly and packaging will also take place at this stage as we get all the materials together for shipping.

Hi. My name is Brent Kruithof, and I started working out when I was 17 years old and weighed 95 pounds. I was the definition of “puny.” Soon, exercise became more than a hobby - I loved to learn more about it, try new things, and see improved results. I worked out consistently throughout high school and college, then the "real world" hit. My first job out of college was an accountant for a big four public accounting firm. As a CPA, I had long busy seasons and traveled frequently, which didn’t give me much time to get to the gym. I started working out at home, but quickly realized my workout wasn’t nearly as effective as when I could get to the gym. I tried some home gym products but found that they were gimmicky and didn’t give me a total body workout. So, I decided to develop my own product to fix this problem. I would make a product that was portable, affordable, versatile, and (most importantly) effective. You may have a fitness product designed for push-ups, and one designed for abs, and another to assist with lateral exercises. But why not combine all those into one versatile, lightweight product that does it all at a great value?! The FLYUP™ can be used with or without a handle, allowing you to truly get a total body workout.
We started by fastening some ball bearing casters to the bottom of a pushup stand. Then we sketched out different ideas of what we wanted the FLYUP to look like. We created several CAD designs before making the working prototype. After using the prototype for months, we developed the final FLYUP design.

Risks and challenges
First of all, thank you for thinking different, being a trend setter, supporting a dream, and paying now for something you won't receive for a few months. People like you are awesome and we love you.
As with any Kickstarter campaign, this is a project. We have aligned the right team and partners, made the best design, determined the best materials, but we need the money to set the process in motion. We've gotten as far as we can, but we need your help to make it happen.
Since, we don't actually have inventory yet, there are still some obstacles that we have to overcome. The tooling has to be perfect in order to have the right fit and function for the FLYUP™ to slide as easily as possible. The tooling debugging process can take a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on how it is cut, and this can affect our timing.
Our goal is to provide an awesome product and have great customer service, because we know that our success depends on YOU telling others how much you love FLYUP Fitness. Part of having great customer service means having great communication, and we will provide you regular updates on the project and timing.
