Received my game today - thanks guys :D
Wow and this one get's through... wow...
i pledged twice; once at the 25$ lvl and again at the 50$ just to make sure to show my support. I'll be sending one of the games to a friend for her birthday :)
what about offering the bento box as an extra. i ordered 3 copies of the game, and would love to have a box for each game.
also, will they big enough to fit the promo cards as well?
So close on the 50K goal! Very excited and proud to still be a backer!
The SodaPop miniatures that I have already received are absolutely beautiful. I'm looking forward to the game and two extra miniatures I backed when they arrive, and if it weren't for Kickstarter, that never would have happened.
Brace yourselves, though. My sentiment is thanks to the overabundance of whiners and trolls over at the Printrbot project. I hate them, I don't want to be associated with them, and I hate how I responded to them. Neither the supporters nor the detractors are truly correct over there. The truth lies somewhere in the middle, but there's so much argument that nobody will ever find it.
For this reason, I think Kickstarter has done more harm than good in the world. I think it needs to end.
I appreciate the sentiment @Entity325 - I believe that there is room for Kickstarter and its reach, I work with a lot of people who have benefited from the exposure and growth a shot in the arm like Kickstarter can provide - are we totally pleased with our specific outfome? not really. But I what is life without a little excitement - I guess, a business has the right to make decisions for itself, good, bad, informed, or ... well.. it is what it is.
We would not have had the opportunity to fund our project without at least being to reach out to a whole new group of people, show what we can put together, and expose people to our other small lines we have been working on, Super Dungeon Explore, and Relic Knights to say the least.
Once again, thank you everyone for your input, time, faith, and support in this crazy process.
btw - we are almost at 50K.... tick tock ... pledge time runs out this Sunday - so spread the word to keep people going!
This comment has been removed by Kickstarter.
Working in the Bento box... thing is bloody expensive, working on it - we are at around 47K, so things are looking up!
completely agree with you steve. especially those nice ones as seen in one of the videos explaining the game
Just repledged on the Sodapop site. I was waiting for the huggy pillow to come back as an extra again, but it doesn't look like its going to... Shame.
I know its probably a bit late now, but a really cool and useful stretch or extra would have been card sleeves to protect the cards while they are being used in rough/party environments. :)
Is everything sorted now for the bento box to be the new stretch goal?
@Stuart: That's what I thought. I wasn't expecting a quick reply, and they even have two weeks to get it done.
It may take a while getting a reply from the guys as they are currently at the origins convention
hm for me i didnt get an answer for my email so far
There's a space for additional comments on the Soda Pop order form, and I put my shirt size in there. Maybe they'll ask for additional info later, but I figure it doesn't hurt to put it in with the order.
Kickstarter projects do it through a survey sent to backers after the project finishes successfully, so most likely Soda Pop Miniatures will send us one to our registration email. Perhaps they can confirm this for our peace of mind ;)
If I pledge at a level that has a shirt, how do I give my size information?
The new goal is 50k. It was noted here: http://girls.sodapopminiatures.com/content/almost-40k
From their funding page at http://girls.sodapopminiatures.com/content/fund-tentacle-bento:
"PLEDGES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL JUNE 17th, 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time".
When will the website funding end? I've run into some monetary problems but I really don't want to miss the opportunity to back you guys.
Can you at least tease us with the monetary goal, just so we know what to get to?
Sorry guys, going into the holiday weekend, we expect info next week so we can announce our next stretch goals!
Looking forward to the new stretch goals!
Is it time yet?
Looking forward to hearing the next goal. Can't wait to see what it is.
New stretch goals to be posted soon, just getting a bit more info on costs... :)
Is it time for a new stretch goal yet?
Updated the sketch for the poster in the Updates section - REIQ will rock this one!
I would totally play a tablet version of the game!! I have an asus android tablet it would live on forever (or untill the tablet died, then I'd buy it again for the next tablet) XD
An Android/iPhone version would be great. Think about DrawSomething--turn-based gameplay that doesn't necessarily require you to sit there with someone else at the same time.
Dunno about playing a pc version it all depends how it is done the ccg stuff done as pc games used to be a cool alternative you could pick up and play when you weren't able to play the card game but the recent magic is ridiculously bad they charge as much for buying card packs in the video game as buying the cards which tured me off it right away it's great still for trying out strategies and cool that they keep the cards up to date but i don't want tto have to buy everything twice
heroclix on the otherhand not typically a card game i know but it has an interesting premise not seen since the pokemon scanner cards and the ps3 eye ccg where you can put what you have bought physically into the game
though with a set card game neither are really applicable so i don't know how much extra it would really add to the game without being a pointless money sink if it were a free app when you bu the card game it'd be a cool bonus but then that adds the problems of platform compatability with p.c.'s it's not much of an issue but so many apps out there work on a few platforms and then leave the rest of us high and dry unless we upgrade our tech like marvel's recent augmented reality stuff nice idea that lets you expand certain frames in a comic into animations or extra data side stories etc but it only works on a few devices which isn't a big loss since it's just a a bonus freebie but still sucks
yeah all that said a computer game can wait i'd rather see a few more physical expansions released first
I would play a PC version of the game.
The main problem with card games, is you can't always play them when you want to. That's why games like Magic: The Gathering are so great on Steam. You don't have to track down someone who wants to play. You can just start up the game and play against a computer.
If you do a PC version, you'd have to get it on Steam. Maybe even do a TF2 promo. Tentacle weapon for Scout, I'd love it.
Honestly? I probably wouldn't. I spend way too much time hunched in front of the computer as is.
Unless it had really over-the-top hilarious animations, which would probably change my mind...
I would absolutely play an android tablet/smartphone version of the game. It would be best if it had single play vs the computer mode and if possible some kind of online multiplayer mode.
Thanks everyone! Someone mentioned somewhere that they might like to see a mobile/tablet/PC version of this card game... here's a funny question. Would you play it?
For all of the inproper censorship, and incorrect blogging done... in then end, the developer wins.. more sales, and less payout required. Grats Sodapop :)
Congratulations on surpassing your kickstarter pledge total
If it wasn't for Kotaku, I probably would of never heard of Tentacle Bento.
I'm pretty sure that also applies to a lot of people. After they did their rage article, Tentacle Bento got a ton more backers.
So in a way, all the fake controversy they tried to create was more helpful than harmful.
So.. looking at this now, I guess the bloggers who tried to shut this down should be thanked? Not only did they drive a lot of people to buy the games based on their incorrect blogs, but the result was that the publisher had to move the campaign to their own website, where nearly all the funds were repledged BUT they do not have to pay Kickstarter 5%. So more money for the developers. For all their chest pounding, the bloggers did nothing in the end. :P
Seeing how were almost at parity, any hints of what a fourth stretch will be?
I also pledged double of what I did here
Due to KS shenanigans, pledged twice what I had originally. Rock on, guys!
Sent another email to KS, asking for feedback about the "no comments" policy and concerns it raises for me. Have yet to hear from THAT...
All pledges get the REIQ poster!
what pledge do I need to get the REIQ poster?
working on it now, sorry for the inconvenience
I went to register from SodaPopWebsite.
but, password mail does not arrive...
Are there measures?
@Mark -just send it to me email@example.com I'll get it sorted out.
I sent you guys an e-mail via your "Contact" link, not sure if it was seen yet. It's regarding changing the shipping address after placing the order.
Glad to see the funds are reaching back towards where they were when KS shut it down. Hope it keeps right on building up. Is the plan to run it for 30 days from when it went back up like it was going to be on KS or what?
As for Marie-Claude I'm happy to have her on board, when I upped my pledge due to the change over I went ahead and pledged at the MARIE-CLAUDE BOURBONNAIS FAN PACK level. Looking forward to it.
