Customs exam on the shipment
Hey backers. We just received word that our shipment is going through an additional customs search called an MET exam.
The good news is that we can get the container out of the port today. The bad news is that it needs to be delivered to an offsite testing facility, where the government will do a screening. Apparently shipments are chosen through random selection, but it's likely that we've been selected due to first time shipping.
We've been told by our shipping partners that this process can take up to a week. They expect to get the lamps to our warehouse by the end of next week, or Monday the 16th at the latest.
For US and Canada, we should still be on target for pre-Christmas delivery. We'll do as much preparation as possible (printing out shipping labels, scheduling pickups), so that we can send the lamps out immediately after they arrive at the warehouse.
For international backers, pre-Christmas delivery is possible, but will likely require a faster shipping service. Again, if you'd like to discuss this, please email email@example.com.
We're really sorry to keep everyone waiting. Our primary goal is happy customers, so please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else we can do. As always, we'll keep you posted with updates.
Thanks everyone, and have a great weekend.
Adam and Bryan
