Randee Paufve takes her latest work "So I Married Abraham Lincoln..." on tour to Conduit Dance Theater in Portland, OR.

Bay Area-based choreographer Randee Paufve and Paufve | dance return to Portland to celebrate our 10th anniversary season with the Pacific Northwest performances of So I Married Abraham Lincoln… an evening length work based on the life of historical figure Mary Todd Lincoln, Thursday-Saturday June 21-23, 2012 at Conduit Theater.  This production follows our acclaimed, sold out San Francisco premiere of So I Married Abraham Lincoln featuring an ensemble of performers from the Bay Area and Portland who highlight ideas about Mrs. Lincoln as a fractured self - a highly visible, often unbalanced woman who was objectified throughout her life.  The work is based on ideas about Mary Todd Lincoln as the original First Lady body, a prism-like surface upon which the American public projects adulation, fear and judgment, setting the stage for the love and mistrust of American first ladies throughout our brief national history.

We are asking for $3500 to cover the cost of airfare for the 10 dancers going on tour.  Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!
