About this project
The Transamerica Pyramid is one of my favorite buildings in San Francisco. I work in a building with a great view of the Pyramid, and have been photographing it for several years. In 2012, I decided to start a project to document an entire year of my view of this building. I took a photo of the Pyramid every day when I got into the office using my iPhone and the Hipstamatic application.
At the end of the year, I had a collection of 256 unique images showing the Pyramid in fog, sun, rain, at night, and a once-in-a-lifetime event: The September 21st photograph includes the Space Shuttle Endeavour in flight en route to it's final home, the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
Now I need your help to publish a book for the project.
The completed hardcover book will measure 12" x 12" and contain 72 pages featuring all 256 images from the project. Most pages will feature four images on the page. Some of my favorite images from the project will be presented as full page images. The book will be printed on heavyweight paper using a four-color offset press process.
In order to ensure a top-quality product, I have chosen to use Oddi as the printing company. Oddi has many years of experience producing high-quality art catalogs and photo books. I visited their factory in Iceland in March of 2013, and I am confident that the completed product will be well made and enjoyable to look at.
Everybody who supports the project at any level will receive a digital version of the book and will be listed on the Backers page of the book.
For a $10 pledge, you will get a postcard with an image from the project. You can choose to have a random image, a specific image from the project, or an image with a general theme (black and white, color, fog, sun, etc.).
Photographic prints of single images are available in three sizes: 4"x 4", 8"x 8", and 12"x 12". These are available at pledge levels of $25, $50, and $100, respectively. You can choose to have a random image, a specific image from the project, or an image with a general theme (black and white, color, fog, sun, etc.). These prints will be made by Photoworks in San Francisco.
For a pledge of $200, you will get a 24" x 24" photographic print containing all 256 images from the project. This print will be made by Photoworks in San Francisco.
For a pledge of $300, you will get a 10" x 10" gallery wrap canvas print of any image from the project. You can choose to have a random image, a specific image from the project, or an image with a general theme (black and white, color, fog, sun, etc.). The image will wrap around the sides of the frame. These prints will be made by Photoworks in San Francisco.
For a pledge of $1000, you will get a 4" x 4" print of every image in the project. That's 256 individual prints. These prints will be made by Photoworks in San Francisco.
There will be a limited number of books available, and early backers can get a book at special pledge rates.
In addition, there are some rewards that combine a book with other rewards, such as photographic prints. For these rewards, you can choose to have a random image, a specific image from the project, or an image with a general theme (black and white, color, fog, sun, etc.).
If you are looking for a very special reward, you can get a book along with a framed print of every image from the project. I will provide you with several frame choices and frame each one of the 256 prints, then have them shipped to you ready to be displayed.
Where The Money Goes
Printing a book is an expensive process. The majority of the funds will be used to print the books. The remaining funds are divided between Amazon Payments fees, Kickstarter fees, and producing and shipping the rewards to backers. In the event that any extra funds are raised, they will be used solely to improve the product and to include extra rewards for backers.
In short: all of this money goes towards the project. None of it ends up in my pocket.

Risks and challenges
At this point, nearly all of the creative work is complete. If funding is successful, all that remains is to finalize the list of names for the Backers page and submit the document to the printer.
Any delays would be in the actual printing process or in shipping. However, my estimates for delivery already allow for quite a generous amount of production and shipping time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
