CUB Magazine is Queen Mary's oldest student publication, and is loved by both staff and students alike. We are an Arts & Culture magazine, run by a team of dedicated students with the support of our Students' Union.
We publish both print and online, and would like to continue doing so. However this academic year has seen a significant drop in the funding that we receive from our Students' Union, which puts our ability to print in jeopardy.
It currently costs around £1500 to print each issue, and we usually do 4 issues a year. This year however, CUB suffered a serious cut in funding due to an increase in media outlets. Despite support from the Students' Union, we only received £1000 for the entire year. Hence, we are hoping to raise enough to at least see through our WWI Centenary issue, which our editorial team are currently working hard on, before starting even more fundraising iniatives for our later issues.
We are looking to raise funds to secure our first print issue of this academic year, which will be a dedicated World War I Centenary issue due for release at the end of October 2014.
We would really appreciate any help or support you could offer - whether a new Fresher, an old alumni, a current contributor or just a fan of our work. Any extra funds would amazing, as it can help fund a second, third and (hopefully!!) fourth issue!
Check out our amazing incentive rewards and please donate to help keep CUB alive and kicking!
Risks and challenges
The only setback we may face, is if we don't raise this money in time for our first CUB print issue!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
