Do you enjoy adventurous music?
We (Coincidence Machine) are preparing to release our first CD. We are a duo, just Matt Baranello on drums and voice, and Jimi Durso on bass and/or guitar and voice. We use our technical skill, technology such as looping, and our imaginations to create the most compelling, interesting and varied music we can. The songs are mostly original, and it's the first "post-depression" recording of mine, so I find them to be very inspirational, both in content, and also the fact that two guys are able to do this on their own (many of these songs come from the period when I had just overcome depression, but even the ones from before have taken on a new meaning since). Our music is rock & roll, but since we've both spent a lot of time playing and listening to various forms of jazz, classical, and world music, there are elements of those that we just couldn't avoid. You can hear influences of artists such as Bob Dylan, the White Stripes, Primus, and El Ten Eleven, among others.
But putting out a CD is really expensive. We've managed to do most of the recording and mixing on our own, but actually getting them produced requires quite a budget. Any help we get is greatly appreciated. We've set the goal at $50 only because we've decided that if need be we will come up with the $700 production money ourselves (though we'll also be spending money sending discs out and getting t-shirts made). Any money we get from kickstarter will help greatly in us having to pull less out of our pockets, and we plan on fulfilling our promises to all backers.
You can find out more and hear some of what we do at: www.CoincidenceMachine.net
Songs we're planning on putting on the disc are: Should I Stay or Should I Go, Shadow Voice, Your Eyes, Wish You Were Here, Shine, I Cry Alone, She's So Heavy, Snow Day, Swamp, and the Price. (Of course, this is subject to change depending on what's finished when release time comes).
If there's a reward you'd like that's not listed, please let us know and we'll find a way to include it.
