East Side Pot Shop is my dream, You can help make my dreams come true. Money raised will be responsibly used to purchase the vast amount of equipment and materials needed to open a ceramics studio for 50+ artists to work.
Risks and challenges
Risks and challenges are everywhere but one of my major challenges is creating a space that is efficient, fun, and productive that encourages community members to want to come back and continue taking and filling classes. I am going to achieve this by working with others in the Austin arts community to create an open minded, supportive, contemporary space where people of all levels can engage their creativity through clay. I think it is important to work with professionals in other fields such as marketing and designers to make sure East Side Pot Shop is reaching as many people in the community as possible.
Another challenge I face is raising the capital to purchase all of the equipment needed to ensure the studio is up to date and utilizing all of the technology needed to make contemporary ceramics. I am fundraising and using my network of fellow artists to raise money for equipment. I have been able to utilize my handy skills and kiln building skills to keep the amount of equipment cost to a minimum.
