About this project
When a family prayerfully decides to start the adoption process for the second time, little do they know that in 5 days a baby will be in their arms! The “5 Day Adoption” follows this family on an incredible journey. Witness their faith first hand and see how quickly God can answer prayer.
This family describes their trust in God as a "step into the Jordan River"(Joshua 3:12-13). Through CAT scans, FBI background checks, travel arrangements, and other necessary activities, this family saturates all decisions with prayer and praise to God. Their trust in Him is so strong they even head to the airport without having confirmation that their home study is approved or even completed!
Through the help of people around the country and even the Duggar Family from TLC's 19 Kids and Counting, the power of prayer can be seen every step of the way.
As the filmmakers “step into the Jordan” with this family, would you step with us to present this amazing journey to the world so others can be encouraged to take a step of faith and trust God?
Together we can tell the story of how God worked through prayer to place a little one in the arms of a loving family and also inspire others to adopt a child even as the Father has adopted us. Please prayerfully consider how you can invest in the Kingdom and spread the word about the wonderful blessing of adoption.
We've Exceed Our Goal!
We've sailed past our minimum goal AND we've passed our first stretch goal of $5,000! Thanks to our incredible backers we can now budget for:
- Travel Costs for Additional Filming
- Additional Equipment Rentals
- Actor/Talent Fees
- Website Fees & Maintenance
- Film Festival Entry Fees
However - there is so much more to be done once the film itself is complete!
What Are We Raising Money For?
Help us to continue to exceed our goal so we can pay for the following:
- Computer-Animated Artist Fees
- Music License Fees
- DVD & Blu-Ray Replication Fees
- Theatrical-On-Demand Fees & Theater Rental Charges
- Social Media Marketing Fees
$7,500 Stretch Goal!
If we can reach $7,500, we could cover the costs for digital artists to re-create the opening scene of the film of the family taking a step of faith into the Jordan River.
Joshua 3:12-13: "Now therefore take twelve men from the tribes of Israel, from each tribe a man. And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap."
Before Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River into the Promise Land, God instructed the priests to stand in the middle of the raging river. As they waited they no doubt became increasingly aware that crossing the Jordan River was impossible. The Israelites had previously seen the Red Sea part for them but this time they had to do something to see the miracle happen. They had to step out in faith. They had to keep their eyes on Him and NOT their circumstances. It was a lesson in trust.
This trust is what led this adoptive family to begin their journey. The ability to properly recreate this biblical story will make the message of the film more real and engaging to the audience.
$10,000 Stretch Goal!
If we can reach $10,000, we can prepare this film for theatrical and online distribution opportunities and for others to be able to share the film as a resource in theaters and on DVD.
Our goal would be to get this film into as many theatres around the nation as possible, through theatrical-on-demand platforms, or Lord willing, a sponsored Fathom event showing.
This goal will also help cover the costs for an online marketing team to engage audiences through boosted Facebook and social media marketing. Marketing and awareness is as much a part of the filmmaking journey as it is to produce a film.
Risks and challenges
At this point, the biggest risk is scheduling everyone to complete the final filming session. We have multiple families in multiple states to coordinate. Most of the documentary is completed, so it's a fairly smooth ride to completion.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
