The show went great, thank you all.
Last night was second performance of Oregon Bird Sketches, went well as the opening night. Thank you all for your for your commitment, and thanks for coming to the show!
From the audience:
What a marvelous program tonight presented by the Agnieszka Laska Dancers for their 15th anniversary: newly choreographed dance pieces by Agnieszka Laska set to live music composed by Lutoslawski, Gorecki, and Jack Gabel and performed on stage by dancers along with mixed chorus, solo piano, and mezzo soprano. It was a joy to hear Stephen Lewis on the piano as well as the piano cabaret duo of Nancy Wood singing along with Paul Safar on piano. Portland's Resonance Ensemble provided the choral group, so there were quite a number of collaborations in this show. I enjoyed all the dance/music pieces, but especially the premiere of "Oregon Bird Sketches" with music by Jack Gabel, dancers sporting feathers as they moved like birds, video projections by Takafumi Uehara behind the dancers and solo pianist Stephen Lewis on stage. The entire program was beautiful, charming, filled with poetry through song and movement. After the two Portland shows yesterday and today, the show will next go on the road to Astoria.
We are really excited that we will take the show to Astoria Music Festival! It is going to take a while to edit video, so if your reward was video from the performance, please be patient. Thanks again for your help!
