A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
TracXcroll is an auxiliary device that converts the function of a commercially available trackball into creator use. In addition to replacing the ball function with vertical and horizontal scrolling and shortcut keys, you can also replace button functions with shortcut keys. Furthermore, by registering the application to be used, it also supports automatic profile switching.
TracXcroll hacks the function of trackball. TracXcroll works as a keyboard and mouse. You can not select applications such as illustration creation or movie editing. In Photoshop, you can utilize trackball by assigning brush size change and screen movement.
We are doing our best to ease the risks and challenges of this project with the goal of shipping in April of next year.
Delays are a frequent concern for projects based on Kickstarter, and the TracXcroll team has carefully prepared for such an event. Please understand that a realistic manufacturing timeline was created, based on past experience, to account for any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
We are taking several strategic actions to ensure that the proposed timeline is met. First, we chose a partner based in Taiwan for mass production. Taiwan’s proximity to our Japanese office ensures production quality and control as well as being able to meet the deadlines. The production team we chose to partner with is a reliable and experienced team. They are handling several other large projects and are committed to delivering a quality TracXcroll on time..
Based on our efforts thus far, we are confident that we’ll deliver all backer tiers by April of 2019. Should any problems arise, such as changes to the shipping or production schedule, we will notify you and attempt to make things right.
For customers living outside of Japan, please be aware that individuals may be subject to customs duties according to the laws stipulated in each country. We ask that supporters bear any tariffs and fees.
