UPDATE! -- Sincere thanks to everyone that pledged we are just over our initial goal of 50k! We have only a few days left and we are aiming for 75k!!! Still have lots of great prizes available. DONT STOP NOW ! Any extra funds will be used to license the music tracks we would love to have but cant afford and also go towards color correction and a higher quality final sound mix!!! This film could get the royal treatment thanks to you guys!
Hi everyone -- thanks for checking out our Kickstarter campaign for "The Aftermath". The style of this movie could best be characterized as a Southern version of 'Winter's Bone' meets 'Trainspotting'...two amazing films we feel capture a realistic grittiness that most films nowadays lack.
We have the film IN THE CAN and it has turned out better than we could have ever imagined!!!
Post production costs can easily reach six figures, even on an independent feature film. Our target goal of $50,000 allows us to help defray SOME of those costs and give it the attention to detail it deserves. We are asking you guys for help in hopes that you believe in the independent film movement and you feel like some of the prizes we are offering makes your donation a little easier to make. If you can't donate, don't sweat it!!! We appreciate you checking out the page and maybe if you know someone who would be into it please pass our project along! Would love to have your support and positive vibes any way we can ;]
Now, meet the team...
Tim McCann - Director/Co-Writer
Tim McCann has directed seven independent feature films and won a variety of international awards, including the International Critics Prize (FIPRESCI) at the Toronto Film Festival, the Merchant Ivory/Kodak Award at the Telluride Film Festival, and was Critic’s Choice at Rotterdam. He has worked with actors Robin Tunney, Spalding Gray, Sam Trammell, Adrienne Shelly and Melissa Leo. Variety claimed, “McCann’s instinctive camera-eye burnishes nearly every exchange with a Cassavetes dynamism”. In a review of the 2005 Toronto Film Festival, The New York Times cited Tim McCann as one of the top 5 up and coming indie directors.
His first film, Desolation Angels (1996), won the International Critics Prize at Toronto. With directors Jonathan Demme and Barbet Schroeder presenting, Desolation Angels drew critical acclaim in its theatrical release, landing on several “best films of the year” lists. Revolution #9 (2002) premiered at the Telluride and Toronto International film festivals. Variety called the film “a highly assured, ambitious pic… located somewhere between the loopy fantasy of David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and the harsh sterility of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Revolution #9 won the 2003 Media Award from the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) for its compelling depiction of schizophrenia. A.O. Scott of the New York Times wrote, “We need movies like Tim McCann’s Revolution 9 " The film stars Adrienne Shelly, Michael Risley and Spalding Gray.
Runaway, which stars Aaron Stanford, Robin Tunney, Melissa Leo and Terry Kinney, premiered at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival, where Variety called it “a slacker psycho thriller that will keep audiences off balance till the bitter end.” It won Best Feature Film at the Austin Film Festival
White Rabbit (2013), starring Sam Trammell, Britt Robertson, Nick Krause, and Ryan Lee -- explores the psychological and social factors leading up to a school shooting and will be released at the end of 2014. It had its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival in September.
THE AFTERMATH (2014) is Tim's latest film and second collaboration in a row with producer Shaun Sanghani and actor Sam Trammell.
