The Monster At The End Of This Update
Let's take a look at where things stand, hmm?
The trilogy is with the copy editor, who has a prodigious amount of work to do. We're talking about 370,000 words of made up fantasy character names and places, so that's going to take a little time.
Currently Working On...
Meanwhile, I'm heavily revising A Key, An Egg, An Unfortunate Remark, which I'd hoped would be a light pass-through, but has turned out to be more complicated than that. Oops. What do we say to the god of properly estimating a work schedule? "Not today."
At the same time, the trilogy has gone out for blurbs from other authors. Only two have come in (so far), but I'm pretty happy about them. The series also received this amazing and spoiler-free review. I realize the promised deadline on this Kickstarter has passed, but the extra time and extra work is going to make these books much better than they would have been otherwise. Thank you for the patience you've shown me so far, and I hope you can spare a bit more.
First Book Available
But for those of you waiting for the short story collection containing the Twenty Palaces short story, your wait is over. If you pledged at $12 and up, you should have already received a backer message with a download link inside it. If you didn't, check your spam trap. If it's not in spam, let me know.
If you're not a backer of the Kickstarter but want to read the book, it will be for sale at All The Usual Places Real Soon Now, as in, I've uploaded it to numerous vendors and have already pushed the "Publish" buttons. They'll be available very very soon.
Here's the cover:
There's another little surprise at that link.
Finally, I'm going to ask everyone not to share that link with non-backers. The book is already uploaded to Amazon, B&N, and iBooks (which Smashwords up next) and frankly I could use the income. Thanks.
