Best Update Ever (part two)

Folks who read the last update know what that subject header means:

The omnibus editions are in the mail.

We sent them out in two batches. The first went Saturday afternoon. The second this morning. You can see some pictures here. And yes, the wife and I will be toasting with the last of that bottle.

FYI: the books are beautiful. Many thanks to @thebarbarienne and Priscilla Spencer.

Important note: The books came to me shrink-wrapped, and that's how they're coming to you, too. The shrink-wrap reduces the risk of damage when they travel, so instead of peeling them open and signing them, I included a signed bookplate in each envelope Frankly, I think receiving limited edition hardcovers in as pristine a condition as possible is the most important thing; I hope you understand why I went with the bookplate rather than tearing them open and scribbling inside.

Are we all done?

No!

I still have four backers at the King/Queen level who have not sent their addresses to me. Don't give me an address? I can't give you a book.

Also, I continue to receive survey responses. Obviously, I can't put late responses in the acknowledgements, but I'm happy to send out p- and ebooks. CONTACT ME, PEOPLE.

For readers who would prefer a print version of A Key, an Egg, an Unfortunate Remark, I'm waiting on a proof, but the book should be available when the ebook is released, on March 3. You should see the terrific cover, by Duncan Eagleson.

Finally, I have to finish the Fate Core supplements for The Great Way and A Key, an Egg, an Unfortunate Remark. My projected delivery date for that is April.

Why? Because I'm going to spend a large part of the next month on a promotional blog tour, so I won't be able to return to it soon. Plus, I need time for some friends to look at it. Finally, spacing out releases is good for sales.

Did you say sales?

I did! Sales are going fairly well so far, although I won't be buying a Mercedes any time soon. I won't be buying a Kia, either. (Confession: when I take 150 3.5lb envelopes to the post office, I use a taxi.)

But book three, The Way Into Darkness, will be released next week, and I could use a little help spreading the word. Social media is good, reviews on Goodreads are great, reviews on Amazon are also great.

An editor friend informs me that when a book hits 25 (and then 50) reviews, Amazon bumps it higher in the recommendation algorithms, putting it in front of more readers. I don't know what, if anything, happens at 75 or 100. Currently The Way Into Chaos is at 49 reviews, and The Way Into Magic is at 10

If you don't mind, reviews on Amazon (or anywhere) would be greatly appreciated.

Further updates

With luck, there will only be one more update like this, to announce that I'm sending out the rpg supplements. Also, if you guys want, we could create an additional update so we could use the comments for a spoileriffic discussion of the books. Let me know if that sounds like something you want to do.

Stay warm and enjoy your books.

My inbox was disastrous due to serious illness, however I have looked everywhere for the ebooks email and cannot find it. Could you please send another? I have signed up for your newsletter also and look forward to adding my review as soon as I read them! Thank you.

I do think you should have reminded us when each book went up on amazon so we could review them on day one. You can still do this for the other novel.

      Thanks, you guys.

J, credit for the gorgeous hardback goes to my book designer, who goes by the Twitter handle @thebarbarienne.

Tasha, if you can't find that email, message me.

Brian, I hadn't really thought about it. At some point, probably, but not right away.

My copy showed up today. It is possibly one of the nicest hardback books I've ever handled.

I believe I tracked down the ebooks you sent (my inbox is a disaster & I'm changing hosts) so my husband and I should be able to read and review. I enjoyed James Nichols (Nicholls?) review of book 1 which caused my husband to ask where our copies were. :D

Congrats on the continued success Harry, that update as discussion forum for the books is a nifty idea. If only Kickstarter's comments section was easier to use...

A question - will there be any opportunity for backers who did not order one earlier to get a copy of the limited hardcover edition? Not sure if you have many extra copies, or if they are for sale, but I would love to be able to order one. Thanks!
