Pledge Manager Open & Production Update
Strap yourselves in for a rather comprehensive update!
First and foremost, the pledge manager is now open. Please check your spam filters and junk for the relevant email inviting you to partake in the pledge manager. It is extremely important that you finalize your details. Both Craig and myself are on hand to help resolve any issues, so please do get in touch if there are any. Again, though, please do take the time to track down the email and complete your response, or get in touch if there are issues. The pledge manager will remain open for another 3 weeks to allow plenty of time for everyone to complete their account.
With that out of the way, it's time to talk progress:
Hopefully by now, anyone who has downloaded the Devil's Run Quickstart from DriveThruRPG will have received a note concerning an updated pdf. The Quickstart has now been updated with two additional pregens, both with stats for 2d20 and Savage Worlds. The two new pregens introduce interesting dynamics that are being explored further in the corebook: animal companions and upgrades. Pach Man and his trusy companion, Blue, were introduced in the previous update, but now you also have Tera, a lady for whom the term fixer applies in numerous ways. Tera has already been introduced as part of the miniature for Nerubian's CabCroozer, but now she has official artwork and stats for both the RPG and board game. (She's included with the Misfits cards in their faction pack.)
Besides the two pregens, the Quickstart has also been updated to include the relevant Savage Worlds Edges and dynamics that are being worked on. You will have an opportunity to view each faction's Savage Worlds representation once they're all complete, but please do provide any feedback in the meantime!
If you haven't downloaded the Quickstart via DriveThruRPG but instead opted for the direct download via Dropbox, the Quickstart itself can now be downloaded from this link. Inside the folder, you will also find three screensavers, all repeated in two distinct formats (for a total of 6 images).
The actual project itself continues apace. In terms of production, all 3d renders excepting the Kickstarter exclusive El Nora are in, with the majority of those vehicles also printed and moulded. All we await are those all-important pledge manager confirmations before production proceeds apace! Card text for the Misfits has been approved, which is a rather large chunk of the cards required for the vehicles on offer. I'll be able to share some snapshots once they're laid out an proofed. Crossover rules are also underway, which is very exciting as this is the element that will allow you to move seamlessly between the RPG and board game if you choose.
For the coreboook itself, Benn and myself are working apace on the 2d20 character generation, skills/talents, and character economy (cash) chapters. Besides that, I'm also rounding out the Savage Worlds rules relevant to each faction. Our independent writers are on task on their own projects, which is currently condensing the large amounts of background material written for the factions - currently 13 with the RPG factions - to bitesize chunks for the corebook. We have a good head start on the content and as chapters pass through editing into layout, I'll begin offering them up for perusal/feedback.
In other exciting news, we also have two projects underway to further expand the Devil's Run RPG line beyond Kickstarter delivery! I know there were a few questions concerning support for the project beyond delivery, so I'm very pleased to confirm that there are a number of works in the pipeline! More on these later as they take formally take shape.
That's it for now. Once again, please do remember to complete the pledge manager and/or get in touch if there are any problems.
