About this project
The BBP is a 3d printer controller board, features everything you need to upgrade your 3d printer. It can also be used for laser cutters, CNC Mills, pick and place machines.
It is powered by AM335x, 1GHZ Cortex-A8 processor, and contains 5 or 6 stepper motor drivers, 3 heaters, 6 endstops, 6 fans, 1 microSD Card socket, 1 Ethernet socket, and 1 USB socket so you can connect with USB WiFi or camera.
It is Powerful!
The BBP runs on a powerful 32-bit ARM (1GHZ Cortext-A8), and with the help of Programmable Realtime Units inside this chip, it can generate high frequency step signal, at least 4 times faster.
We have developed a 3d printer firmware to fully use the PRU. With the help of this firmware, it is easy to generate high frequency step signal, and that is why BBP can make 3d printer faster.
Apart from the advantage of speed, the BBP also makes 3d printer easier to use.
Remote controlling & monitoring
It is quite mesmerising to watch a 3D printer create an object in front of you but sometimes you don't have the time to check it in real life.
WiFi enabled 3D printing
Connect an USB WiFi dongle to BBP, and it will enable your 3D printer to connect wirelessly to any web enabled device. There is no need for cables anymore and you can start, stop, and monitor your print from anywhere!
The BBP supports OctoPrint for remote controlling & monitoring.
We also created an Android APP to make printing easier, which integrates the 3D viewer and the slicer. You can move, rotate and resize the model on the platform. When you want to print, you just need to press the make button, then it will automatically slice the STL file into gcode command and print it out.

We also offer a special version: BBP 1S, which allows you to print more materials and support dual Z-axis printers.
It adds more powerful features，including a user defined stepper driver to support dual Z axis type 3D printer, 2 thermalcouples interface which allow you to print high temperature materials, 2 extended interface for steppers and heaters so you can add more extruders in your printer for color printing.

Risks and challenges
We have finished most of the electronic modules designing and prototype testing. For the production, we are negotiating with local factories. There is always risk when manufacturing systems as complex as electronics. We will spare no effort to meet deadline for delivery.
We will of course do everything we can to prevent any delays. We will be sure to keep you up to date at every step of the process whether the news is good or bad.
