Hello! Thanks so much for checking out my second logo design project. I did a very similar project specifically aimed at designing "name" logos for individual people. However, during the course of the funding period, I had numerous people write and ask if I would consider designing their company/product/whatever logo as a part of that project. Since I wanted the focus of the project to remain on name logos, I declined. But, with the success of that projectl, I've now launched this project with the specific focus of designing company and product logos ... or perhaps any other kind of logo you can think of. So, here it is ...
The idea is very simple. As a designer, I love making logos. So, I thought it would be fun, and challenging, to do a project with the straightforward concept of creating a whole bunch of different logos for a whole bunch of different companies and products. That's it. Each backer will have a unique, custom and professionally designed logo created for their company or product, or whatever else they might want a logo for. Then, all of the logos will be displayed at thelogodirectory.net. Why a directory? Because each logo will then link to a specific URL that the backer gets to chose... It could be their own website, Facebook page, Twitter, etc. (nothing obscene or inappropriate though). So, depending on the number of backers, this project could be very huge and quite challenging. In the end though, I think it would be so cool to see a huge number of logos displayed on the site together. Check out the example images below, but imagine a lot of different logos in the site example.
About The Logos
As a design nerd, I'm pretty picky about consistency. So, to give the final site a consistent look, I'm planning to have each logo to remain black and white. Also, in the event that this project actually takes off and receives a lot of backers, I want to let everyone know in advance that the number of hours spent on each individual logo will be limited to just a couple of hours at the lowest funding level. Also, please note that the lowest funding level will not include backer reviews or second rounds of designs. I'll do my best to design you a logo you'll love, but ultimately you'll be delivered what I design based on the description you give me of your company/product up front. Just imagine if for some crazy reason there were 500 people who backed this project, it could then potentially take over 4 months, working 40 hours per week to finish all of the logos. However, that could very well be the fun, and most challenging aspect of the project... Designing consistently good logos in a limited amount of time may not be easy. But with that in mind, please know that I'll do my best to make great logos.
About The Funding
Overall, you can think of it this way; Backers get a unique, custom designed logo, while I get a really sweet design project. Upon successful funding, I'll reach out to each backer and ask that they submit a brief sentence or two about their company/product from which I may draw inspiration for their logo design.
You might be asking yourself, "Wasn't the lowest funding level for a logo $25 on the last project?" Yes, it was. However, in my experience, company/product logos are typically more involved and require a little bit more work ... hence the jump. The reason I'd like to raise at least $1000 is so that there could potentially be at least 20 backers at the lowest funding level ... Otherwise, I'm afraid that thelogodirectory.net might feel a little empty in the end, and it's potential impact would be lost.
