About this project
I'm thrilled that you are here reading this and hope that you will partner with me in making a 50's and 60's inspired romantic beachy record. What an interesting sound you might say? I couldn't agree more. Please reference one of my favorite albums of all time, Chris Isaak's Baja Sessions, to get an idea of the sound I love. My goal is to raise $10,000 dollars ( a very modest recording budget for a full length album) and Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing opportunity, either I raise the entire amount or none of the pledges are processed. This will be my first ever full length album and I'm so excited to record all the new material that I've been writing. With your help the project will be bigger, longer, and arrive quicker than if I was doing it on my own. I am so grateful for your support and belief in me and my music.
The breakdown for the budget is roughly this:
1. 5% goes to Kickstarter
2. 3-5% to Amazon for credit card processing
3. $800-$1000 for CD Production
4. $600 CD for CD mastering
5. $3000-$3500 for musicians
6. $1500 for studio space
7. $2500-$3000 for engineer/producer fee
***If we raise more than my goal, the additional money will go toward graphic design for CD packaging, photo shoot fees, website design, marketing efforts, live show musician expenses, etc.
****I am scheduled to hopefully start recording on October 22, then mixing and mastering at the end of November. We hope to have the CD off the presses by the first week in December and out the door as soon as possible (usually 10 business days).
I am deeply touched by all the encouragement I've received and blessed to have fans of my music. I love you all!
Risks and challenges
The overall challenge we could run into would be getting this into your hands by the holiday season. Mixing and mastering can sometimes take longer than expected and manufacturing deadlines are often inaccurate. Should December zoom out of view then the project would for sure be in your hands by January. BUT!! I'm very optimistic and ready to work as hard as I can to get this record done in our goal time frame.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
