Alex Gibney Joins Zero Day Film

We are very excited to inform backers that Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney has agreed to come onto the project as Consulting Producer.

Alex has two films now in release: Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine and Going Clear, both of which are receiving a lot of attention and great reviews. Going Clear just won three Emmy awards. Among Alex's many award-winning films are Taxi to the Dark Side; Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room; Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer; and The Armstrong Lie.

Alex has agreed to review pitches and treatments, make introductions to broadcasters and distributors, and screen cuts as the film goes through post-production. This kind of hands-on assistance will be extremely valuable and gives buyers more confidence as they consider the project.

Last week I was invited to Washington D.C. by The Investigative Film Festival to attend a two-day symposium on investigative journalism and documentary film.

While there I met with our sales agent, Meyer Shwarzstein of Brainstorm Media, along with several potential outlets, partners, and TV broadcasters. There was universal interest in our film among funders, outlets, and investigative journalists. Having Alex on-board, along with Meyer out there pitching, raises the profile of the project, bringing us closer to landing completion funds and a distribution deal.
