Spearheaded by a former wine executive and a professional chef, Fine & Rare will bring something new to the San Francisco food scene. A fresh fish counter, a wine bar and a seafood restaurant, you will be able to relax in a casual environment where your curiosity about the food and wine is welcome.
Chef Peterson is committed to sourcing the most fresh and sustainable seafood the Bay Area has to offer. His connections to the best local suppliers will allow us to deliver memorable dishes at reasonable prices. The menu will have a southern flair and will change seasonally. Lobster rolls and Gumbo will be featured along with a weekly rotation of special offerings.
Sourcing grapes from Sonoma, Napa and Paso Robles, and contracting with many talented California winemakers, Ted will be able to procure a variety of unique offerings. We'll serve 36 different international and domestic wines by the glass, including quality brands owned and created by Fine & Rare - great wines that you won't be able to get anywhere else.
We’re asking for $40,000 to help us open our location and to start the permitting and licensing process. Your pledge will help us break through into San Francisco – and will breathe life into a place you’ll want to bring family, friends, and dates for years to come.
Risks and challenges
There are hurdles that any restaurant opening in San Francisco has to clear: the city requires drawings, permits, and licenses that can take several months to be approved.
To navigate the regulations, we are working with some of the most respected compliance specialists in San Francisco.
