One of the greatest things about London is the Tube. We moan and groan, but it’s one of the wonders of our great city. Each station is different. Love it or hate it, the Tube has a unique atmosphere and endless awesome visual wonders, if only we would stop and actually look.
I’ll be traveling the entire map of the London Underground and documenting the journey by making an A3 sized charcoal drawing of each and every station.
There are 270 stations in total on 11 Tube lines on the London Underground. I’ll be traveling along each line and collecting sketches and pictures as I go, which will help me create the final drawings.
So far on my journey I’ve drawn the Bakerloo line and I’m working my way across the Jubilee. If you back my project, you can email me to determine which station I draw next. I’ll break my journey according to you! Even if you pledge £1 you can tell me where to go next.
If you back my project, you can choose from one of the following rewards exclusive to Kickstarter.
Please note: I'm only making one drawing at each station so if you do want a particular one, please send me a message straight away so I can reserve it for you. If you don't do this, someone else may gazump you. Once it's gone, it's gone!
I'll be updating the remaining available stations on this project page, and also posting new drawings as they happen on Instagram and twitter.
If you back a reward you can help to create the journey plan by letting me know which station to go to next. Email me with the name of the station you want to see. When I make the drawing I'll post it on Instagram and I'll give you a mention and shoutout. You can tweet me about the project or message on instagram using #londondrawn
I’m working with a top notch London printer to produce exquisite prints. It’s hard to tell them apart from the originals and I'm offering everything at an exclusive price for Kickstarter
If I can raise enough backing, I intend to have a show of the work here in London, to which all Kickstarter backers will have an invite to a special private viewing.

Timeline: I'm estimating the completion date for the project to be around November. I've calculated this from the how long it took me to do the Bakerloo line, and am confident I can meet this deadline. However, as soon as you back the project I'll draw the station of your choice, which means it's highly likely that you'll receive your reward a lot earlier. I'll be posting rewards out as soon as the project ends, in the order that they were backed.
Risks and challenges
My main concern is that there could be a high demand for certain particular stations. There'll only be one original drawing of each station, and I don't want to disappoint backers. If I get enough repeat requests for stations that have already gone, I'll consider offering new reward options to address this.
Fulfilling print orders is unlikely to be a problem as I’m working with a Fine Art Trade Guild accredited photographic and fine art printing company whose clients include the British Museum, Guardian, BBC and the National Trust, so those of you who have backed prints and frames can rest assured you won't be disappointed.
I will be responding to all messages and comments, and I'll be updating the project page regularly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
