This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Wed, May 22 2019 9:00 AM UTC +00:00.
SKULLZ SKULLZ SKULLZ! You want skullz, you get skullz! This project is full of skully goodness, get your (imaginary) fill of calcium rich goodness with this lot of digital STL files for your home 3D printer.
Why have I put a "Z" at the end instead of an "S"? Because "Z" makes things cool! Yeah, I could have called it ZKULLZ! but that would have been too much coolnezz for even me to handle so just the 1 "Z" in SKULLZ!
I'm only planning on this being a small kickstarter as I was having a break in between my previous Castle campaign and the next City campaign.
While the campaign is running I'll be having a small sale on many of my older STL files so stop by the store and see what else you might like.
Well, SKULLZ of course.
But seriously, this project includes a skull pyramid to be an awesome centrepiece for your tabletop terrain, plus plenty of little scatter pieces to keep you from using boring, non-skull terrain on your tabletop as well!
The Main pledge includes:
The Skull Pyramid
- 1 regular sloped outer wall with sculpted interior wall
- 1 outer wall with steps and a sculpted interior wall
- 1 Skull Roof section (cut into 2 pieces and also kept whole)
- 1 Skull open roof section (2 pieces)
- 1 Banner for the top of the pyramid
- Dovetail connectors
The Skull Pyramid Stretch Goal
- Wall section with door
- Small pile of skullz
- Large pile of SKULLZ!
- Skull on a stick (also known as a spear but sounds tastier on a stick)
- Corner pile of SKULLZ! great for putting in a dungeon or in the corner of a ruin.
- Wall Pile of SKULLZ! Great for putting against a wall in a dungeon, ruin or temple.
Here are the main pieces included to make the skull pyramid with the banner on top. These files may change as I check through the prototypes more thoroughly but they will have this general look.
Pieces connect together with dovetail joins. The dovetails are separate pieces also included as a separate file.
Here is the first part of the scatter terrain. More will be unlocked through the stretch goals.
For this campaign we have 1 pledge level only. This will get you every main file plus every unlocked file. This is roughly US $4.60 or GBP 3.50 or 4.10 Euro (subject to change depending upon exchange rates as I don't control the world's economy... yet)
I am going to keep this campaign very simple and only have a few stretch goals. Once these goals are gone, there won't be any more... probably.
UNLOCKED At NZ$500 a new wall section with some great big femur bones acting as a doorway will be unlocked.
At NZ $1000 a Giant will be unlocked. Here he is bare bones (ha ha ha) He may come in this form or may have some extra clothing pieces added (or both)
At NZ$1500 The Rib Cage and Femur will be unlocked. This means a whole bunch of new scatter terrain involving skulls, rib cages and femur and probably the rest of the skeletal system since they have been sculpted already.
And that's it! I won't be doing more goals than that so that I can continue with work for Lord Cireneg's Walled Town.
If this project gets 20 shares on facebook I'll unlock this SKULL TREE for all backers. So it is a normal tree but with SKULLZ! coming out of it. Here is the link.
These pieces have been printed at 100 or 150 microns on an FDM printer. There are a lot of undercut pieces in this. They WILL require the use of supports and will require clean-up.
As the skull terrain has rather deep recesses you will need to use supports with this. It creates a much more detailed interesting piece.
I have run four previous Kickstarters for STL files that have been successful. The Wizard's Tower, The Wizard's Tower Bridge Expansion and Sir Cireneg's Border Fort were all Fantasy settings and Guido's Shipping yard was a more modern setting. (I'll be getting straight back into the Border Fort after this campaign)
You can check out each campaign at these links (Click the picture)
Fulfillment of SKULLZ! will be completed through DriveThruRPG. Each backer will receive copies via their account. Fulfillment will begin as soon as possible. This should hopefully be within 2 weeks of the project funding. A survey will be sent out shortly after the project has funded to gather email addresses associated with DriveThruRPG accounts. Please note, this is the only way to gain these files. It will be advantageous to you as you will then have the files in your library so you can access them as often as you would like.
If you are interested in Licensed printing of these, allowing you to sell printed copies, check out my Patreon page. At the moment it is $3 a month for anything I have produced but this will increase as I get a larger portfolio of products. STL files must be purchased first for this licensing.
You can also check out my Facebook page for more regular updates to things. I don't like to bombard the Kickstarter page which loads and loads of things after the campaign except for progress reports which are generally very few as fulfillment is usually very quick.
Risks and challenges
This is my fifth Campaign for STL files. The first four went smoothly in regards to fulfilling rewards. Most rewards were sent out within 24 hours of people completing their survey with surveys being sent within a week of the close of the project.
If this is highly successful some of the stretch goals may take longer to be received by backers but the core files will be sent out as soon as possible with stretch goal files being sent out as they are completed (after design, printing and testing).
Files are constantly backed up in the cloud and on USB's and different computers so that they are kept safe in the unlikely event of my computer crashing big time.
