About

All this and more comes with the Lord Cireneg's City pledge! (Some stretch goals shown)

Lord Cireneg's City is a bustling city with buildings stacked side by side to create a true feeling of a metropolis of the medieval age, suited to your medieval or fantasy setting. This is the second of multiple Kickstarter campaigns, each building upon the previous campaign of the border fort to eventually make it into a magnificent castle fit for a king.

Not only does this contain buildings for creating residential areas of a city but you can also create busy marketplaces, belltowers to dominate the skyline and inns for that exciting starting point for any great RPG.

Pieces stack upon each other for quick assembly and disassembly.

STL files are scaled for 28mm gaming.

This Kickstarter campaign is best combined with the Border Fort to create an impressive walled city. Purchase the city walls, along with many other designs previously created, in the "I'm New Here, What's All This" pledge level or if you would like to try out a free design, click the link to download many of the free designs (or purchase other designs) from my store at DriveThruRPG. Some are pay what you want so if you like them you could spend a little bit if you so desire.

A QUICK LOOK

Included with the Hear Ye Hear Ye pledge will be (details are further down the page):

Lord Cireneg's City

The Battered Shield Inn

The Belltower

The Market Place

Unlocked Stretch Goals:

  • Balcony
  • Alternate Tower Top
  • Steps Up
  • Bridge
  • Double Tower Entrance
  • Alternate Market Piece
  • Alternate Furniture
  • Alleyway Arch
  • Alleyway Dead End (thick and thin)
  • Horizontal Room joining piece
  • Low Walls
  • Extra Inn Accommodation Level
  • High Walls
  • Alchemy Freebie
  • Corner City building
  • New Inn Roof Front
  • The Gallows
  • Inn Extension Part 1 and 2
  • 30° street bend

A variety of files to make housing for a populated city. This will come in 2 different widths and 3 different depths with 2 different styles and a variety of different roof types. This allows you to stack them upon each other as high as you would like for a different style of housing every time you game!

8 different roofs. The thin ones have a long and medium sized length. The thicker widths ones have 4 long roofs, 1 medium sized and 1 small. There is also a piece to go on the top of each chimney.
All the different wall options. 22 different types.
2 different floors types. 1 with joists flush with the walls 1 with joists sticking out. 3 different lengths, 2 different widths. 9 in total.
The base pieces are where the city buildings join horizontally. There are 14 pieces in total. They have 2 different lengths and 2 different widths. Some pieces are for either end of the street and there are even some included if you want to have them as standalone buildings.

The sheer amount of these gives you endless options for the city of your choice!

So how do they fit together?

Pieces vertically slot together on a simple peg system. Pieces horizontally are joined only at the base piece with a dovetail join. This makes it easy for putting together and packing away.

You do need to be selective when choosing your pieces as pieces share joining walls. So a large piece beside a small piece will have an extra half wall to enclose the interior while other pieces are completely enclosed so they can be at the end of the street or at the top tier of your building, rising above the rest.

Piecing together is easy. Just choose the pieces you want and stack them up!

The Battered Shield Inn has a bar-room ground floor full of various bar-room items such as bottles, firewood and a fireplace, kegs, tables and chairs.

Above this is the lounge room where more patrons can rest their weary feet and drink to their hearts content, looking down on the bar-room through the balcony section.

Higher than this is accommodation. These are stackable so you can build these as high as you want. Further stretch goals may unlock different accommodation types to make the inn even more varied.

Topping it off is the roof. Using the floor section with this allows it to act as a headquarters for some sort of crime-boss in the city or perhaps a wealthy merchant's home.

The inn roof is a large piece. Some more cuts will be made on this but it is highly recommended to glue this together with plastic glue once fully printed.
Stretch goals will create different arrangements. Doors still to be added. Fill this out with the furniture seen further down.
1st floor of the inn. Add some tables up here and you've got a real party!
The inn can be printed in small sections or as the entire surround and the furniture pieces.
These extra inn pieces are also for use with the regular buildings and will be added to with stretch goals.

The Bell-tower is an imposing building to tower over the rest of the city. The raised floor section includes a basement section to store extra equipment. The tower section have an internal stairway that climbs the inside walls to the tower up top. You can use it without the roof as well if you would like and the sphere on top can also be changed with a rustic wooden cross.

Different pieces for putting together. The inner staircase winds its way all the way up.
The bell can actually move on its frame!

The market includes a variety of market stalls to be used in the centre of the town and it also includes a variety of boxes filled with different fruits. Pumpkins are also a favourite in Lord Cireneg's city so this includes 2 different pumpkin files.

At the centre of the market is the market cross. A covered out door centre-piece for the market.

How the pieces fit together (note 3 options for tops to the stalls for 2 base sections, these are interchangeable)
Other market pieces

Pledging for Lord Cireneg's City is easy.

Roughly US$0.63,  £0.50, €0.57

Back at this level if you want to keep up to date with the project and buy me a sweet treat at the end of the campaign :)

Roughly US$37.50, £30, €34

This level includes all the files for the city, the inn, the belltower and the market. What a deal! Any unlocked stretch goals will also be included at this level.

Roughly US$69, £55, €63

This is the perfect level for those people new to my projects. This includes all the files included in the previous tier plus all the files included in Sir Cireneg's Border Fort  Kickstarter basic pledge.

The Border Fort bundle is priced at NZ$70 on DriveThruRPG, reduced from NZ$100 when buying the pieces individually, so at the price of NZ$50 on top of the City pledge, this is a saving of 50% on the Border Fort.

These files are:

Castle walls, Towers, Hoardings and Wall ruins.

Subsidiary buildings such as the Barracks/Storehouse, Kitchen, Stables and Smithy

The Lord's Hall - This will be a great file to include in the centre of your city.

A balcony and a wall section with an outer door.

An alternate tower top for the bell tower.

Steps up to a higher level. Combine this with the door from the balcony section.

Span the gap between the two sides of the street with this bridging section. (6 pieces)

The Tower will now have entrances that can be accessed from two sides.

More pieces to fill out the market. More stalls, more produce, more wares!

More variants for the city furniture. A new bed or two a table and some new cupboards.

This adds some pieces for use between buildings as access to behind the buildings.

Every city needs an alley with a dead end. Great place for a hangout of ruffians and beggars. A thin (as shown) and wider piece will be added at this goal.

Now you can have characters move between the buildings horizontally as well as vertically. this will be 6 more files.

This is very much a work in progress. A variety of pieces will be added that let you create this in a variety of formations

Here we will get some low walls that can go between buildings but they will be great to make the inn a standalone piece with a small walled backyard.

This is a basic template piece. More windows and possibly walls will be added to this.

Another height to the inn. This one will be an alternative accommodation level. Different interior walls and different window locations.

High wall (The wagon is a freebie on DriveThruRPG)

Think exactly the same as the low walls... but BIGGER!

No image for this one yet. You guys are too quick!

Another Alternative for at the corner of your city street. This is more in line with the city building sections in style.

This is a quickly pieced together balcony. It will look more interesdting and have a proper door when finished.

This will provide a different front to the roof of the inn. Possibly with a balcony for some snobbish person to look down upon the peasants.

If you need a piece for some real action in your city the gibbet should give it to you.

concept piece

The first part to the inn extension adds a bridging piece. This will connect on to where the small alcove section currently is (which is removable). If we get even further we will unlock a more amazing piece for the inn extension.

A purpose built extension for past the bridge section will be included.  This will make the inn even grander than it currently is.

An alternate building will be developed to create a corner at 30° rather than right angles. This will include pieces for either side of the street (angling out and angling in)

The NZ$32K Goal is the Cobbled Roads ADD ON. Expect this goal to be fulfilled much later than the others. This will include roads for Lord Cireneg's City. To add this to your pledge you will need to add NZ$8 to your pledge. It will include road pieces to go between the buildings, intersections and angled pieces.

(roughly US$5, £4, €4.60)

Fulfillment of Lord Cireneg's City will be completed through DriveThruRPG. Each backer will receive copies via their account. Fulfillment will begin as soon as possible. This should hopefully be within 2 weeks of the project funding. A survey will be sent out shortly after the project has funded to gather email addresses associated with DriveThruRPG accounts. Please note, this is the only way to gain these files. It will be advantageous to you as you will then have the files in your library so you can access them as often as you would like.

Here are some printed examples so you can see what they can look like when printed and painted. These were painted using with acrylic house paints from your hardware store. I'm no professional painter as the pictures show and I didn't pay anyone to paint these to a high quality standard but they look great on the tabletop!

If you are interested in Licensed printing of these, allowing you to sell printed copies, check out my Patreon page. At the moment it is $3 a month for anything I have produced but this will increase as I get a larger portfolio of products. STL files must be purchased first for this licensing. (This will be increasing to $5 in December)

Other items shown in the previous Kickstarters can be purchased through my DriveThruRPG store.

You can also check out my Facebook page for more regular updates to things. I don't like to bombard the Kickstarter page which loads and loads of things after the campaign except for progress reports which are generally very few as fulfillment is usually very quick.

Oh and Cireneg is Generic spelled backwards, hence the name. :)

Risks and challenges

This is my sixth Campaign for STL files. The first five went smoothly in regards to fulfilling rewards. Most rewards were sent out within a week of people completing their survey with surveys being sent within a week of the close of the project.
If this is highly successful some of the stretch goals may take longer to be received by backers but the core files will be sent out as soon as possible with stretch goal files being sent out as they are completed (after design, printing and testing).
Files are constantly backed up so that they are kept safe in the unlikely event of my computer crashing big time.
