One of the reasons I started creating my own dungeon tiles is because I love playing role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Starfinder and Apocalypse World. I wanted some tiles that looked epic and were so easy to setup that they didn't interrupt game play, so Epic Sci Fi Tiles were created!
All of the floor and wall tiles have connecting pipework that flows throughout them. These are modular so you can spin them around put any tile next to another one and still get that awesome looking pattern below.
I also print all of my files and paint them, to make sure they work correctly and look great once they are a physical object. (Apologies for my dodgy paint work below!).
First of all, I apologise for sounding bored in this video, I will get better over time, i'm sure! I go through some of the files available in this Kickstarter and point out the details that are missing in the photos, like the screen and shelves on the side of the bunk bed! https://youtu.be/Qjvdh13-rTA
The Core Idea
The main concept of Epic Sci Fi Tiles is to keep it easy to create epic adventure areas whilst mainting the look and feel of sci fi. That's why this time around we have included RPG style low walls as well as the tiles, these fit in perfectly with creating that feel of a spaceship that has landed on a desert or a remote outpost on some alien world.
OpenLOCK compatible, the floor tiles will be OpenLOCK compatible, use them with all of your other OpenLOCK tiles! A BSD license has been acquired for the use of OpenLOCK within a commercial project see here: http://www.printablescenery.com/2017/06/28/rob-mehew/
These are the base tiles that make up most adventures!
I absolutely love these doors, it's so fun to just keep sliding them up and down. You can even use the dots across to the top of the door to denote the security level of the door or paint them however you want.
The windows have a small slot in them that you can slide in material to create a different setting inside a ship. Slide in outer space, a nearby planet or maybe just some see through plastic to represent windows!
These traps add a new sense of danger to any adventure. I will add all of the other ones as soon as they are painted.
The walls add another awesome depth to the current location and are a great addition to any set of terrain.
The accessories pack will be bolstered by the stretch goals. The bunk beds aren't really done justice in the photo below, I think they are one of my favourite pieces in this set.
There are a few stretch goals already, but over the next couple of weeks we will be adding more and more! Scroll down to see the current stretch goals.
Epic Pledge Level
Here is a preview of the digital isometric maps you will receive, they will be a lot higher resolution and be themed around Epic Sci Fi Tiles too.

Risks and challenges
As with my previous Kickstarter there are few risks and everything was delivered on time. This time around I am hoping to offer a more complete core set along with some amazing different types of scenery and terrain.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
