About this project

Looks so cozy to me.
Looks so cozy to me.

You may first ask, why the heck is this project only seven days long?

I've been tossing this idea around for a while and have just recently found myself in a position to actually move forward and upon checking out Kickstarter ideas I was inspired by Kickstarter's All in 1 promotion! I'm moving back to Idaho and pretty much want the launch of the blog and self imposed social experiment components to begin in union with the new life I will be starting there.

For those who know me...

you may hear some gasps of disbelief when I define myself as "anti-social" and "introverted". Let me first toss out some rather well known names of famous introverts: Steven Spielberg, Bill Gates, Emma Watson, Christina Aguilera, J.K. Rowling, and the list goes on - Google it.

Being introverted does not mean I'm shy.

In fact, the great majority of my adult life has forced me to be a successful sales person, marketing representative, and people manager. On the flip side, that professional persona wears down the introvert in me. It's taxing and as a result creates someone who is rather anti-social in her personal life. Can I shine in a crowd or event? Sure! Would I prefer not to even be there and instead be watching "When Calls the Heart" from the comfort of my theater seat at home? Absoflippinposolutely!  I'm not "lonely" and I love being "alone".

Have I been successful in my career as a people manager, as a sales person, and as a marketing manager? Heck yeah, I thrive on exceeding goals and making more money. That being said, however, how has this and/or does this anti-social behavior negatively impact my professional growth? I've probably missed tons of opportunities by avoiding social events and opting for the quiet night at home.

How does this affect my "love life"?

I have none, and have rarely had one. I tend to get emotionally exhausted from the experiences romantic relationships bring. Admittedly, I do not tend to put myself in social environments in which I'd cross paths with someone romantically. Will that change and will you be a part of my self imposed social experiments to move outside my anti-social comfort zone?

The largest motivator encouraging me to start this project is primarily because I find that at 50+, I truly have the smallest circle of real and meaningful "connections" of anyone I know. This, I feel, will result in a very sad picture of the "smallest funeral ever" when I pass. I have a cat, a dog, and an adult son who would be in attendance and probably only then if I've pre-arranged a caterer to feed them for attending. They love me, it's just they are too much like me and would probably rather be at home then attending some lame funeral.

As I said I am not lonely. I love being alone. I do not ache for nor crave human interaction in my private life. BUT, I am "anti-social" to a highly negative degree.

As a social creature and someone who strives to exceed at work I feel I must explore how I can be more balanced in my introvert brain so as to remove the "anti-social" shackles which hinder me from becoming FULLY what I WANT to BE even if I've waited until I've turned 50!

Bring on the Blog!

Bring on the Pictures!

Bring on the New Experiences!

I Invite the Interaction of Strangers!

Why am I requesting funding? Anyone can create a blog.

Any professional in the sales & marketing industry understands the importance of investment of time and money to make, launch, and support a successful project. Social media campaigns and awesome website tools being the early on focuses.

This is not going to be a "hobby". This is going to be a serious project which I foresee having an effect on other anti-social introverts. I also see it branching in to other money making opportunities, i.e. real life birth of a business!

Risks and challenges

What are the risks and challenges that come with completing your project, and how are you qualified to overcome them?

1. I could die in which case I would not be able to overcome the challenge.
2. The entire Internet could cease to exist in which case I could not overcome the challenge as it is Internet based.
3. I could become a social diva who flocks towards large and restless crowds in search of adventure and romance, in which case my anti-social behaviors would be "cured". My resolution would be to switch gears and start a new "Calm My Ass Down" blog with relevant challenges like making me sit home on a Friday night and binge watch "When Calls the Heart".

    Serious Supporter for Serious Issue

Can you identify with me? Do you know someone like me- a fully functional introvert who is anti-social and has no life? Are you always trying to tell them what to do and that they need to get a life? Are you interested in what I may pursue in my attempt to become more social and move beyond having 1 real friend at a time? Are you curious to see if I enter in to a relationship (since I tend to have no patience for them)? Do you want be an active participant in the decisions I make and the paths which I chose?

Not only will your name be listed as a sponsor of the blog but you will also have interaction in my life and choices when it comes to moving out of my comfort zone. A "Serious Supporter" will be contacted with polls to vote on so that I'm not the sole influencer of my path.

Yep, this level introduces some social experimenting!

(yes, you will still receive a digital delivery of my Fantabulous Blog too)
