Hello! We're the Zemel Choir, a London based choir that performs regularly across the globe, and we'd like to invite you to help us create some fantastic family animation with the help of some talented young film makers. Our goal is to make the comic musical piece Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo come to life visually and we hope you can help us make it at the start of 2017! This piece was created by Michael Flanders and Joseph Horovitz. Flanders was the lyricist for the famous comic duo Flanders and Swann, while Horovitz is one of Britain’s best-known composers, and was recently featured as BBC Radio 3’s Composer of the Week.

We have sung as choir for over 60 years now and have a large repertoire of songs but a recent performance captured the imagination of Jack Walker and Ellen Alberti, two young film makers with a distinctive colourful style, and we've decided to collaborate on this musical production. What we hope to do is raise money for each of the sections of the animation, of which there are 10, and we've calculated that to animate each section will cost around £700. Hand drawn Animation is really labour intensive and here's a 20 second teaser we've created just to show you what it could look like. Just that 20 seconds took 4 days to make! So imagine how much work goes into a whole production. So we're asking for £700 now to get the first section done.

If we can get more money, i.e. 10 lots of £700, we can get the whole piece done, and we think it could appeal to adults and children all over the world. As a thank you we're offering DVDs and prints to those who give smaller amounts, and we will also invite our most generous givers to a special sreening of the final film. So please please do give generously and we hope to have a wonderful animation ready to show everyone at the start of 2017.

Risks and challenges

Our animation is being made by very capable young film makers who may be young but have a proven track record. And have all the skills and tools ready to make this film. There is no chance of not being able to finish the animation - barring accidents and life threatening conditions of course! And if there is - the parent film company Imotion Media promise to complete the project with other animation experts for the same fee.
