More Backer Rewards! More Platforms?

Hello to all you lovely people!

Finally we've made it over the 20% mark, which is the £1000 barrier breached. WOOHOO! Still quite a way yet to go though, and we're doing our best to spread the word as much as we can. We're talking to press as much as we can but it's taking a while to filter through in the news.

We did manage to get covered by Eurogamer and VG247 today, so that's a good start! And there's been lots of other smaller outlets that have been incremental to the campaign so far. So thank you to everyone who has helped us out.

We want to hear if you have any suggestions to help us out in spreading the word further, so please comment below if you know of any other ways to attract more people to Humans Must Answer. And if you're part of any forums or follow any YouTubers, let them know that we need their support to make Humans Must Answer the best game it can possibly be! 

We'd love to see more people playing the Humans Must Answer beta demo on YouTube!

So the other thing we'd like to hear from you is what backer rewards you would add to Humans Must Answer - what would you like to receive for your generous pledges? We've had a couple of requests for physical box releases, and so we may add that as an option if the demand is there. But is there anything else you'd like? Let us know!

Lastly, some good news for those asking about more platforms for Humans Must Answer. We've been looking into porting the game to other platforms based on the information Mono Game provide, and it seems that it should be possible to support Humans Must Answer on:

  • iOS
  • Android
  • Windows (both OpenGL and DirectX)
  • Mac OS X
  • Linux
  • Windows 8 Store
  • Windows Phone 8
  • PlayStation Mobile
  • OUYA console

We need a couple more days to confirm a few things so we can't say that any of this is definitely going to happen, but we're hopeful for at least ports to Mac and Linux. We're hoping to have something more concrete to tell you about ports on Monday. 

We don't think we'd port Humans Must Answer to phones, however, simply because it would require such a rehaul of the game to squeeze it into a workable form for a small device like that. But the other platforms...who know?! Let us know which ones you'd most like to see it on - we're working as hard as we can to meet as many demands as we can.

We're here to answer all of your questions too, of course!

      Some good news! We're starting communications with a company about a physical box release for the game, so as soon as we have something concrete we'll let you know - probably next week. We're considering Kickstarter exclusive materials but we're not so sure about in-game things at the moment.

      And we're also considering putting together a digital art book, or just a couple of digital art prints of the landscapes and planets in Humans Must Answer, with accompanying back stories for each.

      And yes Gergo, the game will definitely be released whether we get the funding goal or not :D

      So is this game being released 100% sure EVEN if the kickstarter project failes? I would love to see this game released I would be sad otherwise. So if anybody could tell me for 100% sure I would be happy to know.

      I must say absolute no to any kind of exclusives. The only thing I'm seeing you could improve is making a video showing you and your team, displaying what each one does and clearly state what it is it would be added to the game if this KS is to be successful (maybe in a humourous way showing before / after images).

      Agree with @christopher: nothing like unboxing a new game!
      and agree with @Spilke: more exclusive kickstarter rewards, and this game deserves a Dreamcast-like boxing! or more exclusively, a Dreamcast port itslef only for true collector! (like Pier Solar, months ago)

      Since you state that the game will be released weather or not the kickstarter succeeds or not. A great way for people to start backing is if you add ingame kickstarter exclusives. Of course not something overpowered, but maybe a new cool weapon or different skins for the ship/turrets.
      A great example of this is the kickstarter for Delver's Drop. they released kickstarter exclusives of almost all the different reward tiers.

      On a side note, I would really love to be able to change the skin for the turret, because it resembles the ship so much, I often get confused and look a the turret, thinking it's my ship and being pissed that it won't move, when my ship actually is getting killed on another part of the screen.
      I like that the turret looks like the matter shots. It would be cool if it could be blue when it shoots the normal shots and my ship can be made green or something.

      I have got to toss my hat in with those wishing for a physical box release. Call me old fashioned but I love having my game boxes lined up on the shelf!

      As far as getting more publicity, what about a playable demo that is open to the public? A playable alpha/beta for backers then move it to open beta. Might get some more people interested once they have something that they can actually play.
