Exciting Update - New Reward:
Our friends from eFlirtExpert (http://www.eflirtexpert.com) are helping us out with a new reward. Please check it out.
eFlirt Expert is an online dating consultancy. Founded in 2009, the company helps singles navigate the vast and often confusing intersection of dating and technology. The company works with singles of all sexual orientations and ages. Creating a truly personal experience, advice and support is always specific to the client and their dating goals.
Online dating is marketing your single-dom, and that’s eFlirt Expert’s strategy. Certified eFlirters consider the virtual first impression of a client and help them transition their digital selves to meaningful, in-person dating experiences. By considering a dater’s target demographic, key messages and how best to attract an ideal match, they help you get to that elusive first date and beyond. After all, in a society where we’re more proficient with our typing than penmanship, the digital world is our current obsession – but it wouldn’t thrive without the meta level. Focusing as much on the in-person element of relationships as Web dynamics, eFlirt Expert will take your online crush to offline love.
What is the Blind Video Dating Game?
The Blind Video Dating Game is a new Facebook game that is a 21st century adaptation of the 1960s game show The Dating Game.
Like the TV show, one contestant, typically a bachelorette, will question three bachelors, who are hidden from her view; at the end of the questioning period, she, along with the audience, will choose one of the bachelors. If the majority of the audience and the bachelorette agree on their choice, first the losing bachelors get revealed to the bachelorette and then the winning bachelor. Next, the winning bachelor gets a private 30-second chat with the bachelorette to ultimately decide if the final two contestants will agree to exchange emails. Each game should last around five minutes and anyone can play or watch.
We are starting to build a queue of players and watchers so please go to Facebook here to sign up to play or watch. Players will be required to submit a 60-second “audition” recording. Casting directors will decide who gets to play based on the participants’ preferences and the best suitable match for the game. The games will be scheduled during the evenings, and we will need 500 auditions to start things off, so please sign up to play!
We are really excited about this game because this is a great way to meet new people online, whether you are playing to win the game or “auditioning” for someone to reach out to you from the audience. There are no fake profile pictures and no canned email spam to worry about. These are real people giving real answers to find a true connection.
In the Press...

Who is behind the Blind Video Dating Game?
Michael Mikikian is co-founder of Gickup. Gickup is the video chat gaming platform that enables the simple and quick creation of multi-player video chat games. Prior to Gickup, Michael worked on Wall Street as an investment banker working with technology and media companies to help them raise capital. He has worked at Goldman Sachs, DLJ, Credit Suisse and Jefferies. He is a summa cum laude graduate from UCLA in Business Economics and holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson.
Brian Fudge is co-founder of Gickup. Prior to Gickup, Brian ran Code Brilliant, a web application consulting company. He was lead engineer at DivX where he was responsible for software development kits that were essential for DivX's successful initial public offering. He was also an ASIC engineer and software simulations developer for Qualcomm's Digital Cinema Group. Prior to this, he received an M.Eng from UCSD and a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College. He holds two patents and applications for seven more.
Michael Agbabian and Dwight D. Smith are TV producers with over ten years of experience. They are the co-founders of their production company, Mission Control Media, and are producers of Face Off, which is currently airing on the Syfy network. They have also produced Marcel's Quantum Kitchen, WCG Ultimate Gamer, Game Show Marathon, and Last Comic Standing, among other shows. They currently helped produce our first game on Facebook called Secret Celeb. You can watch the full video here on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxJZtEL8LZM
How is this project funded? What's the funding for?
Because we are leveraging Gickup’s game platform, making a video chat game that can broadcast to an audience is relatively inexpensive. We have a design and now are seeking additional funds to complete the game.
Every cent raised for this project is going into the production and distribution, so the more we raise, the bigger we can go with this project. Also, to put things in perspective, we're asking for the budget of $5,000, which is less than ONE minute of a network game show. It typically costs $1 million for a 22-minute episode, or $45,000 per minute!
Why a video chat dating game on the Web?
We strongly believe that the foundations for the future of social games, and dating games in particular, will be digitally distributed. Traditional social games, such as Farmville, don’t allow you to meet and interact with people. This planet is filled with really interesting people, and we are trying to make it easier to serendipitously meet new friends anywhere.
How can I help?
By pledging an amount, you will be eligible to receive rewards exclusive to those pledging through this Kickstarter page. Take a look at the rewards column on the right. We have some really fun super powers that will help you find the love of your life!
Also, please sign up on Facebook and spread the word here.
One last reason to pledge and play.
Over fifty years ago, the catch phrase: "I do not like them, Sam-I-Am" was born. Since you made it this far on our Kickstarter page, we want to give you one last reason to pledge and sign up for our game. To encourage you, here's our small tribute to Dr. Seuss’s famous Green Eggs and Ham:
I am Sam
Sam I am
Do you like
dating games with a webcam?
Would you like them
to find the love of your life?
Would you like them
to find your future wife?
I would not like them
to find the love of my life.
I would not like them
to find my future wife.
I do not like
dating games with a webcam.
I do not like them,
You do not like them.
So you say.
Try it! Try it!
And you may.
Try it and you may, I say.
If you will let me be,
I will try it
You will see.
I like dating games with a webcam!
I do! I like them, Sam-I-am!
So please read our rewards and click on “Back this Pledge”
And support our dating game on the cutting edge.
Share it with your friends; share it with all
When the game is ready, we’ll call roll call.
Then get your webcam up and don't blink,
You’ll have more fun than you think!
Yes, we want to offer the most entertaining experience possible. We are offering a reward "sausage-fest superpower", which guarantees the configuration the one man / three girls. However, it's important to keep in mind that even though you are competing against two other guys for the one girl in the game, there is also an audience that is watching you. So if enough girls "like" you, we'll arrange a game with you and the girls that "liked" you. So this way, you are trying to win the heart of anyone watching or playing, which we think is really neat.
The game is free to play. We might add more paid features for enhanced services over time.
Since we will manually go through each "audition" and profile, we will prioritize people on our waiting list vs people who sign up in the future.
Privacy controls will be up to each user. You can choose a gamer name so no one in the game watching or playing knows who you are. We will ask for permission to post anything to your wall.
We'll collect you name, age, location, gender, email address, friends, and education. This is to help us find a good match for you.
