About this project
FictionSphere is a "Technical Platformer" with a story driven agenda. Its packed with some of your favorite mechanics from the Platforming and beat-em-up genres.
We aim to have TWO compelling stories, as well as 2 different styles of gameplay. The protagonist Ratio will have more of a Platformer feel, while Paradox will take more of a beat-em-up route. Both playstyles require precision, execution, and timing. This game will be a true testament of your gamer-like reflexes!
Mix and mash your moves together to unleash the ultimate combo string! Build the best score you can! Doing more combos will reward you with different results!
Upgrade your abilities to aid you through the fight! Defeating bosses will help you gain new abilities/weapons to extend your combos (See more below!)
Go through 8 different unique stages and use your head to overcome new obstacles!
-Dynamic Combat Mechanics
The AI will be fierce and aggressive, but we've given you some tools to counter them! Ratio can use an evasive roll to dodge, while Paradox has a block to defend against attacks!
Embark on a quest to find the many mysteries surrounding the world of FictionSphere. Help Ratio and Paradox overcome their enemies and uncover the truth, while writing out the pages of their story!
-2 Playable Characters:
We want to create something everyone can enjoy. Each character will have their own unique playstyle. Returning fans of the platforming genre can select Ratio, while beat-em-up fans can play with Paradox. Both will require skill to master!
FictionSphere is set in a period where the people are divided. Ever since a mysterious meteor came crashing down, a new disease has been spread upon the world infecting Human Hosts to become Monstrous like beings, called Phantasms.
Utilizing the new object; now called the FictionSphere a company by the name of Astral Tech based the technological advancements around it. Astral Tech created a barrier, the Apostoloids, and warded off any Phantasms disturbing the peaceful utopia of Faeble.
However, not everyone is able to enter the City of Faeble. Those who are beyond saving from the infection are tossed back into the wild and left to fend for themselves. Only the special few called the Excells have the luxury of the city life.
With the outcasts having no place to go, they create underground settlements to hide in fear of Phantasms. Behind the grand scheme of things, there awaits an even darker plot set out for our 2 heroes as they Uncover the truth that surrounds the Fictionsphere. They began to realize that things are not always as they seem.
Who is Ratio and what about Paradox!? Whats all this FictionSphere Nonsense?! Meet our Heroes, as they punch,slash,shoot and combo their way through each level. Both designed to have their own sense of style and gameplay, the stages will have a different experience to keep you on your boots (or heels), as they take you into the bizarre world that is FictionSphere!
A Young lad who was abducted from the 1618th underground settlement and barely escaped turning into a Phantasm. Turned away by the Citizens of Faeble, he was taken in by his former master Sapphire, who trained him to fight. With a grudge against the 2 factions , he will not stop until his goals are fulfilled! His carefree attitude and untimely humor is only a mask to keep him sane in this world.
A Denizen of Faeble, she fights against the Phantasms to keep the city safe. Executing those who stand in her way, her mission is to stop high-class Phantasms from harming Astral Tech facilities. She has a great passion for protecting her loved ones.
The former master of Ratio, now deceased. One Night during a mission with ratio to sabotage the many facilities of Astral Tech, they were ambushed by the 8 "Subjects". Pinned against a corner they are forced to fight. She was held back Due to Ratios inexperience. Knowing that one of them wasn't going to make it, she bought Ratio some time to escape, passing on her will on to ratio. Her sincere glare forever etched into his mind haunts him of what he must do.
The current city in which Excells and their families reside. While the rest of the world is stagnant, Faeble continues advancing. With a barrier to protect it from threats, backed with the Apostoloids and the Excells, Faeble is nearly impenetrable.
As you progress through the game, you will learn different skills that will help you on your journey. You can mix and mash your skills to extend your combos, or even learn new skills that can help you defend yourself from oncoming threats. Each Boss will give a specific skill or weapon.
The 8 "Subjects" will be shared among the heroes (with the exception of the stretch goal). They are based around fiction related themes! How exciting! Each of them are an Excell utilizing their hidden potentials!

All the in-game art will be accessible for view in the game itself along with some extra goodies like translations. Currently we have some translators for Spanish and French, but we will do a poll later on to see what translations you would like to see! We're not talking about the google translations either, otherwise it'll look something like this...
Various challenges compiled into one mode! Boss rush, time-attack, speed-run, fight swarms of enemies,take on 2 bosses!! Of course the community will have a part in helping us design this mode to keep things interesting!
We want to ensure that you play on a platform that you're familiar with. For now its currently on PC and possibly Steam, but with your help we can have it on multiple ports. Although the Release dates for these platforms may vary.
4 Extra Bosses:
Why 4 extra bosses? Well for Paradox, we feel that having her fight a new set of bosses will keep the game fresh with a new experience and add more replay value.
New Playable Character:
You're probably thinking who this new playable Character is. She is actually in the poster art! You heard that right! 6 New Bosses and environments as well as a new gameplay style. Gameplay will follow the Classic Megaman X formula and her campaign will serve as a backstory for the game and highlight her relationship with Ratio.
We want to enhance the experience of FictionSphere by adding a full voice cast to the game, so that way you're not just hearing a bunch of beeps and boops! We want you to jump in and get to know the characters personally!
2 Player Co-op:
This is meant to be played offline at a friends house like the good ol days, you know before we had all this cool internet stuff. The game will be re-balanced for both stories. You can play both campaigns in a way where you and a buddy can have hours of fun. Backing each other up, causing each others death, raging and screaming at each other(Often ending up in a living room pillow fight), and TEAM WORK! (We do not cover thrown controllers.)
When thinking about the rewards, we wanted to make sure that they were realistic and affordable. Focusing on development is key, so we made sure the rewards wont be a problem or get in the way of developing the game. Check it out!

We are an indie game dev team that officially started in 2015. We Started off working on our side project "MMZX Genesis", however we all had that fire in our eyes to peruse our goals even further. For some of us this team is another chance to follow their dreams, hence the name Team Einherjar.

Aric Works primarily as the programmer and concept artist. Creating video games is engraved upon his soul! Learning how to program video games at a young age, he left school and his job to pursue his dreams and it all starts with this team! He looks forward to working with all of you in creating FictionSphere.

Johan is an excellent pixel artist and has a keen eye for details. What may seem like a boring and daunting tasks to others, he enjoys it as a hobby and loves challenging himself, creating freedom inside restrictions(Pixels).

With both JoJo's they work together as a pair complementing and adapting to each others styles to create a unique blend. Johnny is very skilled in doing various styles of pixel art. As a video game enthusiast and constant ideas running through his head, he comes up with some bizarre storytelling and often times a twisted sense of humor.

Tomy is an outstanding artist that is able to draw in a wide variety of art styles. He makes all the fancy artwork that you see along with the backgrounds and tile-sets. He truly brings the world of FictionSphere to life.
Also known by his composer name Schematist, he composes those satisfying and catchy tunes! Skilled in various forms of music, he loves to compose for RPG's and action games. He has that "Eye of the tiger" when it comes to making video game music. Much like the rest of the team he looks forward to seeing FictionSphere complete!
Sound composer / SFX
Ariel goes by his composer name Frozenith, who is widely known for his Mega Man Remixes. He loves working with different instruments to experiment different styles of music. He loves making metal tracks and utilizing organic sounds to create the perfect composition! Additionally to composing music, he will create some memorable Sound effects!
Risks and challenges
Making a great game also takes great patience. The biggest issue may be that FictionSphere takes longer than expected.
Although FictionSphere may be our first official project as a team, it does not mean we lack knowledge in our own respective fields. We do have prior experience working on our previous project "MMZX Genesis" and fully aware of what comes when developing a full game. Each and everyone of us has been honing our skills and working towards this very crucial moment.
Working fast is our strong point, we want to ensure that the game is amazing when we finish, so that the user experience is fulfilling. Fan feedback is very important! Fortunately we are a very responsive team, with so many ways to communicate with us, we believe that FictionSphere can be finished in a timely fashion!
