About this project
MOREAU PRODUCTION JOURNAL - THANK YOU FROM NICK AND CHRIS
MOREAU is a suspense film that follows a hunter in search of the perfect prey. In his experience he has found that the animals the world provides are not the challenge they used to be. Animals lack the courage, cunningness and reasoning that Moreau possesses, and therefore, are not a real challenge. His pursuit for this challenge has brought him to the point where he is today, hunting the only creature that parallels his abilities: human kind.
Our story follows a particular pair of Moreau’s hunted: two strong women attempting to survive in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. To survive, they must constantly change tactics, adapt to their surroundings, and stay one step ahead of their hunter. Can they outlive their hunter? Can they circumvent a menagerie of traps their hunter has set before them? Can they themselves kill to keep from being killed?
Moreau is our villain: a literary professor who is as equally intelligent as he is deranged. He is obsessed with the short story, "The Most Dangerous Game." So much so, that he tries to make this piece of fiction a reality. Moreau lures hikers and hunters deep into the woods, and forces them to play his own version of The Most Dangerous Game.
Abby is a mother who has been caught in Moreau's trap. She is not only fighting for her own survival, but the survival of her young daughter.
Charlie is a young adult who is fighting for her own life and at the same time, trying to pick up the pieces of her past. She's been part of Moreau's plan for longer than she's ever realized.
Pre-production is already under way with plans to shoot this fall in Central Pennsylvania. Casting from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City. We intend to have the project onto DVD by April of next year.
About Our Campaign:
Our project is a true independent, feature length film. The three individuals spearheading this project are calling in favors from years of experience to acquire most of the crew, talent and equipment needed. Sadly you can't get everything done with favors, the money we raise here will be used to tie up our loose ends. We hope to exceed our goal, taking it to the next level, but $5000 is the bare minimum we can operate on.
In exchange, we're offering some great merchandise from the movie -- some of it signed by our awesome cast. Contribute if you love quality suspense films. Contribute if you support independent filmmaking. Contribute if you just love to love...we will love you back for it.
Thank you everyone in advance, and thank you for taking the time to look us over, here on Kickstarter. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates, as we'll be posting regularly when production begins. Please, tell friends and family about this project. Spreading the word about our film is just as important to us as financial contributions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
If I Donate, When Do I Get My Stuff? Excellent question. The estimated delivery dates are listed below the contribution amounts.
Can You Exceed The Goal? Absolutely! Any additional money goes to the same place as the $5,000 -- the screen! A little extra money means a little extra blood spray, an extra take or two, or a few extra smiles.
What If You (Gulp) Don't Make the Goal? Kickstarter is an all or nothing campaign. If we don't reach $5,000, we don't get anything.
Wait, Is This Real? You Guys Aren't On IMDB! We'd love to be on IMDB! Unfortunately, we're unable to post MOREAU to the Internet Movie Database until we finish the film (their rules) because we don't have an established production company behind us. This is Poke the Bear Productions, the company behind the film, first project.
What If I Have Questions That Aren't On This List? feel free to message us with anything you would like to ask.
