      Hi Robin.

If your phone can’t download the app all the tutorials are on YouTube and we will be uploading the backing tracks to sound cloud.
From there you can access all the material.

      Cheers Nick

The problem isn't whether or not you intend to share our data. The problem is that your collection of said data is illegal (at least here in Europe).

Oh, and it seems that according to the app there are no towns or cities in Iceland. Thus, it's impossible to create an account because the City field is a requirement, but is unpopulated by you. Granted out country is small enough for the population to fit in a few US city blocks, but still... we have our towns and cities :D
You somehow managed to populate the entirely useless State field, however, which is funny because we have no states ;)

Same as everyone above, verification email wasn’t in spam so can’t login even though have filled in sign up details.

Kathleen can u tell us more about ur concerns?

I am looking forward to delivery of my Saximonica before I can comment on the app. Although I do agree, there should be a proper e-mail verification, a secure login process, and easy to download app. =^.^= You Tube tutorials is another grea idea.

Don't get the verification e-mail either.
Stuck with a unusable app as login is required.
Maybe you can make the login optional until someone wants to do in-app ecommerce.
Even then a login isn't necessary for in-app purchases at the Apple App Store.

Not receiving verification link... not in my junk folder either!

You should make sort options in Tutorials tab - at least by name and by experience level - or usability suffers a lot.

    11. Zon

Absolutely agreed with David R Blackstone's message. Please consider checking your options.

Nick I manage GDPR for my employer and this data collection does appear to breach those requirements. David R Blackstones comment gives good advice so make sure you read it. You really should give people the option to log into the app without creating an account.

    13. David R Blackstone on

Nick, I'm sure you have the best intentions with the app sign in, but it is currently opening you up to a lot of potential legal problems under the EUs GDPR laws.
      1. You are collecting personal data (Name, Location) that you currently have no need for.
      2. You are collecting personal data (age) that you will have no use for even if you do open an commerce section.
      3. There is no clear indication of how you are planning to use the data you are collecting
      4. There is no clear indication about how long you will be keeping the data.
      5. There is no information about how to request you delete my personal data.
      6. There is no information about how I request that you limit the processing of my data.

I'm not an expert on GDPR law, but I believe that those breeches could lead to a fine of up to €20 million.
Additionally, if you haven't taken suitable measures to protect the personal data that you have collected and there is a leak, you could be fined up to €10 million.

If you haven't already spoken to a professional about collecting and storing personal data, you really should check what your responsibilities and risks are.

I have found the verification email in my gmail spam box, thanks.

Likewise. No verification email. Nothing in spam or otherwise.

Same for me: No verification email. Please advice.

Same as everyone else below, didn’t get a verification email. Tried to re-register but response says that my email is registered so...what should we do?

      Andreas Bertomeu on

Verifying the e-mail when logging in does not work. A corresponding e-mail did not arrive even after 24 hours (not even in the Spam folder).

Not getting the confirmation link, not even as spam.

Again, the signup part is a big barrier of entry and totally unnecessary. If you want to add ecommerce in the future, that's great: ask for whatever data you need from the people that actually buy stuff at the moment they buy it. When you ask for so much data upfront, what will end up happening is that people will either not use the app, or give fake information, which totally defeats the purpose that you have in mind.

Your email verification process goes to spam filter.

You should tell people to check there for verification link or get 100’s of emails complaining it hasn’t arrived.

      Looking forward to delivery.
