In Robert E. Howard’s original Solomon Kane stories, he travelled across Europe and widely in Africa. There were hints at other adventures elsewhere, but no details. Having raided almost all of Howard’s works for game content, we still had an appetite to explore further. The new lands of America seemed the obvious choice.

The New World
The New World

This new expansion includes everything you need to continue your adventures with Solomon Kane in a whole new continent. It is not long before Kane discovers that there is evil here too, just as there is good. The Old World’s curses seem to have crossed the oceans before him.

America - The New World offers two new tales, each created especially for this game.

The first looks at the lost colony ofRoanoake, and asks what happened to it. This is an enduring mystery. Perhaps Solomon Kane can solve it.

Salem is a name that conjures up stories of witches, wild accusations, mass hysteria, and public executions. Solomon Kane lived some time before the famous witch trials, and his experience of the sleepy town of Salem is very different.

And much worse.

Solomon Kane arrives in the New World and travels the forests of the North East, where he hopes to replenish his supplies of powder and shot at a new European settlement. When he gets there, the place is deserted, and the roof of one building smoulders from an untended stove. It’s like the people just disappeared in the middle of their daily activities. Kane searches for clues.

Solomon Kane’s journey takes him to Massachusetts and the new settlement of Salem. The town is little more than a few fisherman’s huts on a marshy estuary, but there’s trouble afoot when Solomon enters. A mob jeers as an old woman is led to a makeshift gallows.

The Legacy of Evil is one that could affect the town for decades to come if Solomon does not put an end to it. Get to the bottom of the witchcraft hysteria that blights Salem. Prevent the execution of innocent people, risking the mob’s wrath. Uncover the true nature of evil in the town and defeat a coven of witches in the swamp who use Salem’s children as their agents. After all that, Kane must do battle with his ultimate foe, the Price of Darkness himself, The Desolate One. Lucifer...

As always, if you are interested in any of our add-ons, simply click on the green “manage your pledge” button near the top of the page. Then increase your total by the amount of any add-ons you wish to include in your pledge. So, if you have a Puritan pledge ($110) and want to add the America – the New World ($40) box, you would increase your total to $150. If you decide to add Heart of Africa later ($55), simply click on the green “manage your pledge” button again, and add that amount to your total. You can change your pledge as many times as you want while the campaign is running.

Note that during the campaign there is no way for you to tell us what the money you pledge is actually for, so don’t worry about that now. Instead, after the Kickstarter is over we will send you a “pledge manager”. This allows you to tell us exactly how you want to allocate your pledge, which add-ons you would like, how many core boxes, and (most importantly) where we need to send it all!

Just backed because of this. My Native American wife and kids will appreciate their culture represented as human beings and not just "savages" that get in the way. I wish there was more detail about the hostile tribes. Im going to assume they are under evil influence until I can read more.

I love the way you present the addon now :O)
And I love the new addon....I have to update my pledge.

And here I thought it was a board game and not a lesson in historical and mythological correctness.

Do minis from other chapters get used here as well? Or does Salem really only consist of witches in various stages of ripeness? ;)

To be pedantic, I'm real happy the medicine man is a medicine man and not called a 'shaman' (believe me, I've learned not to call them that after getting an earful from my Navajo relations), but the champion could be called a 'war chief', the designation often given to the war leaders (basically, if the chief is the king then the war chief is the general).

    5. Dave the Badger on

Agree with this: "it's a shame you didn't include that witch in the act two image, that's a very impressive looking character, very simple but eye-catching."

And this: "would you consider redoing the Native American Champion's weapon (left had as it appears) from that Orc-cleaver-thing to a proper Indian warclub?"

      Other than that; Fantastic Expansion!

@Sean - Wendigo are depicted in a variety of ways. Sometimes they're invisible spirits, sometimes emaciated ghoulish human degenerates, sometimes giants or bigfoot-type monsters. The only constant is that they are always hungry and can never eat their fill and that their hearts are made of ice and are the one vulnerable point for attack It is a surprisingly wide-spread piece of folklore , with localized variations.

    7. Claymore Nash on

I wish these were two different add ons at a cheaper price point. I can't really justify going in on it when all I want is the witches.

    8. Sean "TheShellFace" on

wow, amazing add-on, really good figure designs! though i do have to agree with @ARIAKAS about the wendigos, i've always heard/read they were depicted as a bipedal werewolf like coyote/elk mix... but i'm just being picky, it's way too late to make changes, and everything else about this add-on really is amazing so i'll still be getting it

Hey... wait a second... is the young Salem witch leading around Brown Jenkin on a leash? Is she the Lovecraft crossover you were talking about?

Wow, really liking this set. I didn't expect witches, much less the Goat of Mendes. The American Indians all look fantastic. Not sure about the wendigos, but it looks almost like they've been chewing on themselves, which would go hand-in-hand with some of the folklore about them.

Also, given the inexact timeline of Solomon Kane, 1630 is not beyond the possibility of his life span by any stretch, even without magic.

    16. Jack on

Yeah, it's a shame you didn't include that witch in the act two image, that's a very impressive looking character, very simple but eye-catching.

    17. Zoltán Déry on

      @Mark,
Regarding the timeline for Salem: I worried about the "Withcfinder General" in a Solomon Kane game, because it's about 50 years later than Kane's time.
Az told me that the Staff of Solomon has many powers, and N'Longa is very old.

I love everything about this - just a small idea, would've put the cherry on top to have had a "real" witch alt image for one of the witches ( like in her witchy form ). But as is, extremely cool add-on, upping my pledge now :)

Just a bit concerned with the timeline as the Salem witch hysteria wasn't until 1692; and the town wasn't founded until 1627......I know these things since it's my hometown...

Love it! The twins are clearly inspired by the twins from the Sleepy Hollow Tim Burton movie! Wendigo is awesome, and I love the Devil too. Adding it to my pledge now....

    23. ARIAKAS on

I love next to everything about this expansion, including the depiction of "his dark majesty" himself entering the fray... so that the design of the Wendigo comes as a gush of cold water. I do not like this sculpt *at all*. There are many so much cooler envisions of wenigo to be found all over the internet...

Well sometimes you lose and sometimes the others win, still it's a great expansion!

I really think that it needs to be made clearer on the front page the difference between Chapters and Acts and the time or content involved for each Adventure/Story.
I've gone back through all of the posts and it isn't very clear with most of the Stories. I've managed to collate info below to try and help but I'm struggling to find clear answers.
Please can you add a quick reference icon next to each story name listing the number of Acts and the Approx time to complete. I feel that by doing this will make it clearer for backers to see what they are getting and how much gameplay content is being provided in all areas.
      Core:-
      Skulls in the Stars
      Blue Flame of Vengeance
      Rattle of Bones

      Witchfinder General (Stretch Goal)
      Addons:-

Rough with all of this being KS only right?

      - what happens if few are interested in one add-on ..
      - expensive! I can’t afford them all, at once especially site unseen, so will pick a couple, but ..

.. maybe be wise to have add-ons as separate KS?

Or you guys prefer an all or nothing approach?

      Creepy twins. Nice.
I love the Wendingo interpretation; Devil too.
      This expansion looks great.
As input, would you consider redoing the Native American Champion's weapon (left had as it appears) from that Orc-cleaver-thing to a proper Indian warclub?
Much more in theme. Plus, they didn't have much metal, and the sword thing looks very in-authentic at any rate. The war club led to the design of the tomahawk as settlers arrived with axes from the Old World.
