Floured Apron’s story may sound familiar; it’s one you’ve heard a hundred times: Hard working chick ditches corporate gig to pursue dream life baking desserts so incredibly delicious they must have more than just a secret ingredient. Sure that chapter rings a bell, but this next one is a little different and you can help write it.
Hi, I'm Shannon and I love to bake. I did spend 20+ years in Corporate America. In 2012, with the support and encouragement of my family and friends, I took a deep breath, snagged an early retirement package and pursued my dream and my desire to bake people of all ages happy!
As a little girl, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my mom and my grandma. Food, dessert mostly, was always a big part of my family and it has become even more so now that I have a family of my own. Some of my most special memories are from people who've shared their own food experiences with me, and now I'm hoping to create those same memories for others in my community. I want to show people that food can taste great without all the artificial flavors, colors and preservatives.
My family and I relocated from Cincinnati to Aurora, OH in 2013. Starting over with the business has been challenging and it has taken some time to figure out how Floured Apron fits in here. After many months of assessing the area, research and meetings, we have an amazing vision for Floured Apron's future!
Meet Rosie, our newly built vintage inspired mobile bakery! She’s fully paid for and will join the Floured Apron family this spring! Isn’t she adorable?
The funding we’re seeking will help pay for equipment such as: a generator, display cases, 3 compartment sink, small refrigerator/freezer, an oven, a coffee brewer, and storage containers as well as other start up supplies.
Rosie promises to be a mighty force for Floured Apron, and a fun member of our community. You’ll find her at the local outlet mall on weekends, set up at farmer’s markets, the Cleveland Flea, community festivals, sporting events, birthday parties, graduations, weddings and anything else we learn about. The possibilities are endless! She will be the sweetest bakery on wheels!
Our baking philosophy is simple: Homemade baked goods, straight from the heart! We use high quality, local ingredients and steer clear of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Simple, beautiful and above all, delicious!
We hope you’ll consider a donation to help Rosie get out and about this spring! We thank you for the time you took to read this and will be forever grateful for any contribution, size doesn’t matter in our eyes ;-)
We are keeping the rewards as easy as pie. We feel it's important to pay it forward but want to put as much money as we can into the business. Therefore, we won't be mailing expensive rewards. If you are not in our area, we can't thank you enough and promise to use your money wisely and share the joy you helped make a reality (if you do find yourself in our area, come find us and your baked goods are on us).
We are ready to let the good times roll and can’t wait to bake you happy!
Risks and challenges
Risks: Not securing the funds needed for the equipment will delay our launch which means we'll miss out on sales for the warmer months and could miss out on events to which we've already committed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
