Warfighter is a card game for 1 to 6 players. You play cooperatively with your friends against the system to complete present day squad-level combat missions.
At the start of each mission, you each select a soldier, equip him/her with skills, weapons, and combat gear within the mission's Resource limit.
You then fight your way through hostile territory, engaging hostiles, as you attempt to reach and complete your mission objective.
Every mission is a stand-alone game. You build your Soldiers, select your Gear, and then run your mission. Within 30 to 60 minutes you will have succeeded or failed.
Warfighter uses a new combat system that takes into account the fire mode you select for your weapon, range, running out of ammo, suppression, and cover - all in the same dice roll! This system creates an incredibly deep narrative with every attack.
As you eliminate hostiles, you gain experience to Upgun your Action cards.
A few Kickstarter supporters asked if there was a way to have Non-Player Soldiers to add to your team. It is in testing now, but here are a couple sample cards! We should know in a couple days how they will work out.
How they work...
They have a cost and you purchase them at the start of a Mission as you would anything else. The NPSs don't hold a hand of Action cards. They have Weapons, Equipment, and Skills, and you use them as normal. They also have a number of Actions per turn based on their current Health. Instead of relying on Action cards for defense, they use the same Cover rules as the Hostiles.
We are play testing a third type of Soldier card, the "Squad Soldier".
Here's a description of each of the 3 Soldier types...
Soldiers - These guys are the stars of the show. You customize them as you see best for the mission with weapons, skills, and equipment. You hold a hand of Action cards for each Soldier, which gives you a lot of tactical flexibility.
Non-Player Soldiers - These are the supporting characters. They have a soldier card as well as weapon, skill, and equipment cards. They do not use Action cards.
Squad Soldiers - These are the background characters. Their soldier cards include all their game info. They do not use other cards or Action cards.
These 3 levels of soldier allow you to construct each mission as best fits your situation and gives you, the player, all the power to play the game however you like.

As the design came together, it soon became obvious that we could not fit everything into one game. Modern tactical warfare involves far too many elements and each one is of vital importance on the battlefield.
When we print the game, we will also print 3 Expansions. Each Expansion expands the game and focuses on a specific aspect of combat.
We have designed the game from the start to include all the rules you need to use all the expansions!
Each Expansion box includes 56 cards and a set of 4 more dice. If we reach our Custom Bullet Dice funding Stretch goal, we'll freely swap out the standard dice in these sets for Bullet Dice.
Expansion #1 - Reloading!
This expansion gives you more stuff. New Soldiers. New Weapons. New Equipment. New Locations. New Hostiles. You get new stuff and more of everything from the core game.
Expansion #2 - Stealth
This expands the quiet and sneaky part of warfare. The core game does have stealth elements, but this expansion really fills it out.
Expansion #3 - Support
The Support expansion enlarges the vital role distant forces play in your mission. This includes fire support, such as mortars, intel from UAVs, and precise fire from Snipers.
So, with 60+ published games to our credit since 1989, why do we need your backing?
We need your help because every game requires a large outlay of money for art, design, and printing. We have spent thousands of dollars on the game so far to get it to this stage, now we need your help for the final step, getting the game printed. We believe this is a great game, and we have devoted months of effort to making it perfect. Now, it is time to trade-in our laser printed prototype cards for the real thing, and to do that, we need your help.
In looking through our funding levels, you'll see they are basic and to the point. We're not trying to make a complex project out of funding our game with 20 different if...then subtle options requiring a spreadsheet to figure out. That's not how we work. We are offering a great game, that looks awesome, and that is fun to play with both hardcore gamers as well as people new to gaming. If you would like to be part of this, we would love to have your help.

You unlock our first Stretch Goal when funding reaches $9,000! When the goal is reached we'll design Campaign Rules. This extra rule section will allow your Soldiers to earn lasting experience, buy skills, and continue running mission together in a linked campaign world!
At $12,000 we swap out the game's normal 10-sided and 6-sided dice for our own custom creation... Bullet Dice! We have crafted a .223 bullet-shaped 10-sided die, as well as a 9mm bullet-shaped 6-sided die! These dice are the same general size and shape as real ammunition!
Here is a 3D rendering of the dice. The next step will be to commission physical prototypes.
Our first prototype of the 10-sided! It doesn't have numbers yet, but the next version will. We just wanted to port something from the 3D world to the physical world to see how it looks. :)
Here are the next generation of prototypes with numbers! I tested painted one to get a feel for the colors. I think the gold is too dark. I'll try again with a lighter color.
With the addition of more weapons, we'll need more Ammo counter types. We'll also need the special round counters to fit the Kill Sight circles on the Hostile cards. When we reach this Stretch goal, we'll be able add a 2nd counter sheet to the game!
We would really like to add Location cards and Hostiles for NARCO jungle missions (ie Clear and Present Danger), and other settings. When we reach this Stretch goal, we'll have the cards we need to portray the additional Location cards and Hostile cards for those environments!
When we reach this Goal we'll be able to add a 22" x 17" Player Mat to the game! The mat goes in the center of the table and organizes the Location card path, Action deck and discards, Hostile deck and discards, and Sequence of Play!
If we can reach this lofty goal, we'll be able to add 6 1/72 scale plastic soldier figures to the core game, and 2 additional figures to each of the three Expansions! These figures can be used instead of the stand-up counters that come on the counter sheet.
