Pavlov’s House was a fortified apartment building used as a strongpoint by the Soviet 62nd Army during the pivotal Battle of Stalingrad in WW2. Soviet defenders held out for almost two months from a constant German assault. The building’s name was drawn from Yakov Pavlov, a sergeant who led the initial storm group assault that resulted in the capture of the building from the Germans. The story of Pavlov’s House was a key piece of Soviet propaganda and was used as a symbol of the incredible resistance of Soviet forces during the Battle of Stalingrad.
In Pavlov’s House, you take control of the valiant defenders of the strongpoint. You also control the key leaders throughout the Soviet 62nd Army that made the defense of Pavlov’s House possible.
Object of the Game
The goal of Pavlov’s House is to last until the defenders of Pavlov’s House are tasked with storming a key German strongpoint during the Battle of Stalingrad. In the game, this is depicted by playing through a deck of cards representing elements of the German 6th Army.
Modes of Play
Solitaire: In the solitaire version of the game, you take control of the defenders of Pavlov’s House. You also control the key leaders throughout the Soviet 62nd Army.
Two Player, Cooperative: In the cooperative version of the game, one player takes the role of the defenders of Pavlov’s House, while the other player takes the role of the leaders of the 62nd Army.
Competitive: In the competitive mode, a player takes the role of the German attackers. They can player against one or two players controlling the Soviet side.
In fact, we are world-wide friendly! All international orders will be shipped from the UK and we will pay the customs and VAT fees!
Pavlov’s House is divided into turns. Each turn consists of the following:
• Soviet Card Phase: Take three actions with Soviet cards
• Wehrmacht Card Phase: Play three Wehrmacht cards
• Soviet Counter Phase: Take three actions with Soviet counters
The Game Board The game board depicts three different views of the Stalingrad battleground. On the left side of the board is a view inside of Pavlov’s House. This portion of the board is used for tactical-level movement of the Soviet counters. In the middle of the board is a view of the area immediately surrounding Pavlov’s House (primarily 9 January Square). This portion of the board is used for tracking Wehrmacht counters as well as the deployment of sappers in the defense of Pavlov’s House. On the right side of the board is a depiction of the Volga River and operational-level elements of the Soviet 62nd Army, which were critical in the defense of Pavlov’s House. The colored square areas on the Pavlov’s House section of the board are combat positions used by the Soviet counters. The colored circle areas on the 9 January Square section of the board are where Wehrmacht counters are placed and advance towards Pavlov’s House.
We've made the current prototype version of Pavlov's House available online so you can try the game out now. Keep in mind this is just a prototype. The components will change, and the gameplay is still in the final design and development stage.

With several Kickstarter campaigns behind us, we are able to professionally deal with setbacks while keeping you, the backer, informed with what's happening every step of the way - and not just while the campaign is running. When funding closes and production starts, we aim to provide the most up-to-date information possible regarding each stage of the game's journey to your tabletop.
We believe that honesty is as important as regular contact with our backers. You can expect the very best from us, no matter what. As part of our honesty pledge, please be aware that we do not offer refunds after a Kickstarter campaign closes. We need the funds to pay the printer and to purchase the add-ons and stretch goals people have earned during the campaign. If you pledge, and later change your mind, that's okay, but you need to cancel your pledge before the campaign ends.
By working with high quality production facilities that we've dealt with during previous campaigns, we are confident that we'll be able to deliver the game in a timely manner. Our exacting standards mean that you're guaranteed to get a great game.
