'Hi, Miss!' goes to film festivals…
This November, we've completed post-production on our short film, 'Hi, Miss!' and the next step is entering the film into masses of film festivals.

'Hi, Miss!' is the story of Kleo and Femi, two teenage photography students. Fed up with them arguing and disrupting her class, their teacher Miss Brannon sets them some extra homework: to take each other's portraits.
We can't say more than that, it would ruin the film and we really want you to see it. And ideally we want you to see 'Hi, Miss!' in a cinema, which is why we're running this festival funds campaign.

There's two reasons to enter short film festivals. The first is that watching your film with an audience is the whole point of making one. We want to enter 'Hi, Miss!' into lots of festivals so we have the chance to screen it to audiences all over the world.
The second reason is that film festivals give new filmmakers in every different role - writers, directors, production designers, sound recordists...everyone! - the exposure they need to progress their careers.

Festival entry fees really stack up. When producing the film, you can always find a way to do it cheaper - you find free locations, borrow costumes, get a bargain price on your equipment. But when it comes to festivals, there's no avoiding the entry fees. That's a good thing because it keeps it fair, but it means we really need your help.
We'd like to raise £350 to go towards all the entry fees. A short film festival expert has told us even the most brilliant films have to enter on average 11 festivals to get into 1, so the fees really stack up.

We'd love to have your help reaching our target. We've got some rewards down the side here we hope you'll like. None of us are famous, so there's no signed posters or dinner dates or mini private concerts, but we can offer you our films, a party, your name in lights and that warm Kickstarter supporter's glow. Thanks for watching the video and reading all the way to the end, we hope you'll support us and enjoy the film!

Risks and challenges
As 'Hi, Miss!' is completed, the big hurdle between us and festivals is admin! There's a huge amount of faff to enter each festival. However, after 4 films together, me (Georgia) and Dionne are a good team, we know how to tackle work together, we're armed with spreadsheets and a stash of recycled jiffy bags, and there are a number of festival entry resources to help us so we know we can make the most of the money you contribute.
