We want to design a line and show it on a runway, but we live in an area where opportunities to get involved in fashion-related events don't exist. When we spread the word about a possible runway show, we received a huge response from people like us who are thirsty for a venue to showcase their work. In fact, we have so many people involved in the show we have had to split the designers into two groups. Each group will be in two shows, meaning we now have to fund FOUR FASHION SHOWS. We are beyond excited for this great opportunity to establish Provo Fashion Week and can't wait to see how it grows from here.
While we are looking forward to showing off our creations, the most rewarding part of planning this show is seeing how excited all of the other designers are for this rare opportunity. Their hard work and creativity will be on display for hundreds of guests and local fashionistas. It will be a great networking opportunity to connect with other designers, professionals and potential clients.
We have gathered a wide range of designers who will be displaying classy business and casual wear, sparkling beaded ball gowns, adorable children's accessories, backpacks and stylish suits, just to name a few. The hair and makeup for the models will be done by students from our local Paul Mitchell The School and the photographer and other professionals involved are all local too.
Funding from this Kickstarter will cover costs for the venue, DJ, equipment rentals, and printed materials. It will also pay for the photographers, who will give the designers beautiful photos of their designs to build up their portfolios, completely free of charge.
We are both poor college students with big dreams and small wallets. Please help us bring Provo Fashion Week to life! We want to make this an amazing community event for our designers, models, and guests. Your help will bring countless hours of dreaming, sketching, patterning and creating to the runway. Thank you for donating...we'll love you forever!
Risks and challenges
This is a community event that has already been organized, we are just going broke paying for it. There are no risks involved because the event has already been planned, reservations have been made and each designer is currently working on their line.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
