Yael is a free concert, a recording, an American premiere, & an opportunity to build communities of musicians and audience members.
Since founding Chamber Music Midwest in 2008, I've watched my plucky little festival become more than the mere sum of its parts. Chamber Music Midwest has turned colleagues into friends and passive audience members into engaged art-makers. Now, in planning for the fourth season, we are attempting to launch our most ambitious project yet--the American premiere and concert recording of Sidney Corbett's Yaël. Integral to Chamber Music Midwest's mission, community building between musicians, spectators, and community members lies at the heart of this project. We are bringing established performers, conductors, and composers to rural Wisconsin to perform with the younger generation of musicians, and communicate directly with you, our audience.
By contributing, you will not only subsidize the travel and lodging of musicians traveling from throughout the U.S. to perform in this concert, you will also become an integral part of this cross-disciplinary, transnational, transaesthetic community building.
