We're brothers John
and James Cain, the founders of Vault Brewing Company - a concept-driven brewpub
launching in Yardley, PA. We're asking for $30k right now, but that is only the bare minimum of what we need in order to open shop. Please help us turn this concept into a reality!
So what is this?
Kickstarter is a fundraising platform that enables us to raise the money we need to launch Vault Brewing by this fall from supporters like you. In exchange for your donations, we've designed a collection of unique rewards with the help of craftsman from across the country... and we think they're pretty sweet.
We tried the
corporate grind, but got tired of it pretty quickly. Often times, instead of
working, we found ourselves dreaming up bizarre entrepreneurial concepts and
pitching them to one another (one even involving cactus nectar as an energy
drink). Finally, we landed on a mutual passion of ours, craft beer, and decided
to take a leap of faith and abruptly quit our jobs to dive headfirst into the
Finding a home
We both wanted to stay in the area we were raised (Bucks County,
PA) so, we decided on a quaint, historic town in PA called Yardley. We found a
120 year old bank with a firestone exterior, quickly put our stake in the
ground, and got to work converting it into a brewery.
For inspiration for our branding and design elements, we turned
to the 120 year old vault located in the heart of the building. Inside the bank
vault, there is a vault ventilator switch that, when turned, brings
fresh air into the vault - a requirement for banks in the 1800s so
absent-minded employees didn’t suffocate when they got locked inside. . . Naturally,
this switch (pictured below) made for a unique and strong logo and provided us our "Vault" business
Our concept for the brewpub is to only do a few things, but
always do them well. Our main offerings will be Beer, Pizza, and Jazz - and
that's pretty much it! All of our beer is brewed in house, on a 10 BBL
system that will be displayed in full view, directly behind the bar. Our
gourmet pizza will be cooked in a copper-clad, wood-fired oven that will be
shielded by a Victorian, wrought-iron fence in the middle of the restaurant. We
will have live jazz three nights a week, featuring local and big name musicians.
Our interior design will be reminiscent of a regal
bank in the roaring 20's. Some elements of our decor will include a
commissioned six-foot painting, a set of wrought-iron doors from a bank in
Cairo, low-hanging old world chandeliers, a tin ceiling, and, of course, our
nine brewing tanks which will be elevated, exposed, and illuminated behind the
bar. What you won’t find at the Vault
though, are TVs, smoking areas, crowded barstools, mixed drinks, and obnoxious
bar music. While those can be
appropriate for some establishments, our goal is to elevate the experience above
the typical “bar” scene.
We... need your help
We are mid-way in our project, but things are getting expensive.
To do this project right, we need to invest substantially in our brewing
equipment, copper oven, and our striking interior design. The money raised from
this Kickstarter project will help us pay for this. Our goal is to raise $30,000 in
just five weeks.
Follow these steps to help us make Vault Brewing Co. a reality:
