HBO broadcast a success - now the work begins to expand distribution and outreach to the masses

Posted by Gantz Brothers (Creator)

Dear Backers,

We are overwhelmed with the positive response to last night's HBO premiere!  Our email inboxes have been flooded with inquiries about the film and what people can do to create change and improve the lives of families like the ones featured in American Winter.  We're thrilled that the film is motivating people to get engaged in these issues.  And now we are hoping we'll be able to harness this momentum into a successful outreach and impact campaign.

We have gotten off to a solid start with this Kickstarter  - donations are coming in throughout the day.  If we can get about 30 donations a day of $25 each, we'll reach our goal.   Please help us get there!

Share our Kickstarter link on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other social media platforms and personal emails to your friends and families!  So many people are affected by the issues in this film, we hope we can rally broad grassroots support and build a movement towards change.

We are getting there!  Thanks for your support!

 - The American Winter Team

As A small financial backer of the film i must admit that I awaited its release with anticipation. As I watched the premiere last night on HBO I was glad that I had made the modest investment to have the film completed. I thought that the documentary was very good and the photography and score was beautiful. I am honored to have been a part of it and I hope it starts or revives a discussion especially in these days as Paul "We won't stop till we destroy healthcare in this country" Ryan rolls out another of his draconian budgets. Thank God for Nick Hanauer's good sense and character. Well done Gantz Brothers.

As a filmmaker ("on the edge: Family Homelessness in America, http://ontheedge.niu.edu), and a supporter of this film, I welcome this quality documentary into the arena where we need to strengthen people's awareness of this soaring crisis. Please join me in supporting this film!
