About

I'm designing products that are or will be ECO Friendly mainly made from post consumer plastic bottles. My products, current and in development.

Leo's, Guitar and Bass Scratch Protector is the first and cornerstone of my three products that are in development. Leo's, Guitar and Bass Protector is for standard electric guitars and basses, the Felt used is ECO FRIENDLY and manufactured from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles.

The second is a portable workbench called, "The Guitar Caddy", a version will be made using, ECO FRIENDLY Recycled and Virgin plastic, and for the traditional enthusiasts another version will be made from Lauan Plywood.

The third product, using the same style platform is a novelty wall clock for homes and studios. All of these products will be made of a variety of materials, like plywood, virgin and recycled plastics.

The story behind the Leo's Guitar and Bass protector. Back in the day, Leo was a professional Jazz guitar player. I met him thru his son a drummer, whom I played with in a classic rock band. We became friends and you know, eventually like family. One day, he called me over and showed me this pad that his mother had made him for his guitar. I thought It was every cool and Leo said to me, "Take this guitar pad, run with it, make something of your self with it." I filed it in the back of my brain, got married, and had children. I worked in several jobs that I used to gain experience with different manufacturing processes that I would eventually use to make,The Guitar and Bass Protector using a 100% recycled plastic felt pad,The Guitar Caddy a portable workbench for Guitars and Basses made from plywood, and The Wall Clock using the workbench platform. These products are in different stages of development.

Leo, has since passed to the Big Gig. So, I after all these years I thought maybe now is the time for these products, and with the advent of social media it would be possible. So, I went into my design studio, "My Garage" and after some experimentation and trial, I redesigned the final product to fit standard electric Guitars and Basses. I needed a name for the Guitar protector, and my awesome wife suggested I name the product in memory of, Leo Hahn. So, Leo's Guitar and Bass Scratch Protector, was born. A great quote from Leo was, "A vintage guitar with a scratch has character, but a new guitar with a scratch is a scratched guitar". Below are a series of Photos of Leo's Guitar and Bass Scratch Protector, and how it is used:

I believe that Leo and myself appreciated recycled products, and I found a ECO FRIENDLY Felt material that is made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles. We all know plastic is not good in landfills and the more we recycle the better for the environment.

How we will do Marketing:

Using multiple marketing avenues such as, Social Media, Direct marketing in retail store demonstrations, Mailings from old fashioned trunk shows that can take this product directly to buyers, industry trade shows, and a Date base with over 5000 stores nation wide, qualified retail outlets can be screened. Also there is the possibility for Licensing this product to musical instrument manufacturing companies. A successful strategy can be developed to promote this product.

Risks and challenges

Currently I'm working with my limited budget in my garage designing the concept of a assembly line production for this product . I'm also designing jigs for the parts I will need to produce the finished product.
I will require obtaining, all permits for the operation of a business. A office/ warehouse location for the proposed manufacturing company will be needed, as my garage is not adequate. Appropriate office furniture and a computer system for the management of the, customer data base, marketing program, sales, payroll, supply chain, shipments and inventory will be needed.
The basic equipment for Production such as,sewing machines,
steam press, tables for cutting, assembling, sewing, and packaging of finished products will need to be purchased. I'm using my wife's sewing 30 year old machine, my kitchen table for cutting, and together with my daughter we assemble, sew and package products.
