This June and July, I will be in Nashville working with an award-winning producer to record my fourth album. The past three albums have relied heavily on some very talented and very generous friends. I’ve enjoyed them all. They’ve been fun to make and I really like a lot of the music. But this is the album I’ve dreamed of creating. I’ve always wanted to take some of the songs that I’ve written to someone who will hear my vision for them, catch that vision and then show me how to carry that vision even further to places I didn’t even know it could go. I think that’s what this is.
A project of this scale is not cheap. It’s not at all uncommon for artists to spend 50k to 100k or more on an album. I get to do this project for around $25,000...and even better, I have about $15,000 raised already. That’s where the 10k goal of this campaign comes in. It feels like a lot of money to me...which is why Kickstarter is such an impossibly cool tool for independent artists. They have provided a safe and secure way for hundreds of people to partner together on a project. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing campaign, which means that the funding goal ($10,000) needs to be met or I get nothing. This means that no credit cards are charged, regardless of your pledge, until the end of the campaign, and only then if the goal is reached.
So please, share this page with anyone who you think might be interested in helping us meet this goal. Share it with your friends, family, co-workers, facebook network...whatever. Take a look at the video and peruse the sweet rewards in the column to the right. I’m really eager to see how this all pans out. Thanks for looking and thanks for your help!Brian
