The name’s Copes. Marc Copes. I’m the Mayor ‘round these parts.
Cow Texas is a small, fictional town located somewhere near the definition of funny, and just round the corner from your dad’s favourite joke.
[You] : Hahahahaha. Wait, I don’t get it.
Or Cult Status. To be honest I’d be happy with either.
(If this is the first time we’ve met, feel free to go down the rabbit hole at www.cowtexas.com)
I grew up reading Garfield, The Farside and Pearls Before Swine and I can now see how these strips were huge inspirations for my own comic, with their unique humour and gag-a-day format. Cow Texas is very much a love letter to my childhood heroes.
But first, a secret.
Giving away a free webcomic is a horrible business model.
So, for the last 3 years I’ve been selling these Calendars to help fund the next 12 months of free comics, and people seem to really enjoy them!
Asking the big questions, huh? I like you.
Fortunately, there’s a range of options to suit every piggy bank. And the more you buy, the cheaper they get!

But before you see the images, let’s have a gun-slingin’ duel!
Ready ..... DRAW!
(That was a play on words. Because I’ve drawn all the calendar images. Watch out, my humour is CONTAGIOUS).
That’s the hope.
I’ve got the idea in my head that these calendars could become neat Christmas presents for your friends and family, or a talking point for your workplace or toilet wall, (with a cool, "I know that guy!" back story).
Not only that, but your hard earned pocket money helps me take this crazy circus that little bit more seriously, and continue drawing free comic strips for the next 12 months. And for that, I sincerely thank you.
2019 will be the year for getting stuff done. And this calendar is going to be your partner in crime. Let's do this.
Risks and challenges
- Printing -
I’ve been working alongside my printing partner for the last 3 crowdfunding campaigns, and I’m confident they'll be able to help me with any unforeseen issues that may arise in this campaign.
- Postage -
Postage fees are somewhat unpredictable, and quite frankly, annoying. I've quoted all iterations and tried to make postage fees as low as possible. Any costs outside of the ones charged I will personally cover. I want you to receive a quality calendar at a reasonable price in time for Christmas and the New Year, and will do everything within my means to make that happen.
- Love -
Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom of this page. I think I'm in love with you. This is both a risk AND a challenge.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
