sad news

Posted by Emil Busch Rathenow, Inc. (Creator)

Dear friends,

we have a rather sad message for you today. A few weeks ago, our main investor Stefan Immes and CEO of Net SE had a serious traffic accident, which he barely survived. Although we have been able to talk to him and although, for a very short time of the day he has become the astute, humorous and positive entrepreneur we know, it is now clear that due to the severity of the injuries he will not be able to continue running the company in the foreseeable future.

For a team as small as ours, this entails a large number of changes. Currently, we are in the process of reorganization and are trying to establish a working system as no successor regulation can yet be found for the Net SE Group. For this reason, we are currently undergoing a restructuring process with an as yet unknown outcome for the individual divisions, such as Emil Busch.

Especially as far as Crowdfunding is concerned, we think that we will need until the end of October to be able to share our conclusions on how to proceed. One of the top priorities of our Crowdfunding team is, of course, to deliver the orders we receive as promised. However, we ask for your understanding that, for legal reasons alone, we cannot make any faster decisions without having reorganized the company.

For technical questions, our support team is of course still available, but we can only make limited forecasts about the development progress of our projects.

We are honestly touched and the shock still sits deep. We are also extremely sorry that we are not able to spread better and more positive news at the moment, but we are working very hard to change this at short notice.

Yours sincerely, Net SE Crowdfunding team

So sorry for the news have you been able to reorganize the company? Can we get refunded? I sent you messages since last year. Please understand that the pledge represents quite some money. I hope you understand. Please let me know.
      Many thanks,
      Best regards,

Also search "oprema" - same exact "sad news" update on that lens from "another group" in Atlanta, GA.

This is beginning to smell very bad!!!

Search on Kickstarter for "citograph" - supposedly from a different creator in Germany. You will find two more lens projects with this identical update - "sad news".

I suppose that they may also have had the same investor, but really???

Two different teams unable to proceed with a project due to an investor accident. Are they even trying, or is this all simply a scam?

It's interesting that you say to us to be respectful and considerate - I think all of us who have supported this project have been more that patient and gracious about all this. You are the ones who are being disrespectful and inconsiderate to all of us. Shame on you!

I would like my money back. This is a scam...Kickstarter simply will not take any responsibility - they won't even get involved to contact the creators. I WILL NEVER support anything from Kickstarter. I can't help it but to think that both the creators and kickstarter ate cahoots about all this. JUST GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK! At this point, I do not buy the "sad news" story or's all part of the deceit and scam.

According to the prior update, shipment of lens was to begin August 18, which implies that the lenses are made, so the shipping may be delayed, but I don’t understand how there can be any other issues.

Doesn't Kickstarter bear any responsibility for this rather substantial loss? I don't think I can support any other projects on the site. Loss of good faith.

As the comany has filed for bankruptcy we will not see any lenses or any refund.

      Dear Aiden,

You are right! Up to now Sep. 2018. No any response from Kickstarter or Emil Bush. I think all of our backers needed to chase our order. Otherwise we all lose in big amount!
Please any backer are you don't want to do anything?

I too would like a refund. I think that would be simpler for everyone involved while you're having to restructure. Once things have stabilized in a year or so, you could always try again.

Shall we get any finished lens photos, I think you couldn't provide that!

I'm willing to wait a bit longer for the lens. It's a really sad situation. However, if it looks like the lenses won't even get made.. I'd REALLY like a refund.

I feel bad about your situation, but do you have any idea as to when you are going to be shipping our lenses. I feel that we have all been very supportive and patient. We spend a big chunk of cash supporting this project because we believed in it, but know it is starting to feel like we have been had - I don't know what else to think. Please give me an estimate for delivery (hopefully soon) or else make arrangements for us to get our money back.
      Thank you.
