A poignant, humorous, & intimate film which follows the transformation of a tumultuous mother-daughter relationship from hated to love.
This just out in the Boston Globe. And today in Tablet.
We were just written about in Psychology Today. Make note of her description of mom, "geriatric shock jock."
This interview just came out in Psych Central Part 1 and Part 2 "Unflinchingly honest."
"My Nose: The Bigger Version. An earthy, intense, tangy look at one mother-daughter relationship. Kind of like a Jewish-American Joy-luck Club. It’s even got Mah Johng. Only with matzoh balls instead of won tons." - C.R. Zwolinksi
"This film is funny, sad, candid and insightful. It's a film for anyone who has ever had a mother or ever had a nose."
-Frazier Moore, Associated Press Television Writer
I’m making a personal film that promises to help many people -- people who are suffering from growing up with a critical and abusive parent, people who have been struggling with low self-esteem and body image their whole lives, people who for years have been carrying anger and resentment towards the people who have caused them harm.
I was the youngest of three children -- the only girl after two boys, so you'd think my mother won the lottery when she finally gave birth to a female. That’s not what happened, however, and I came into this world feeling like Cinderella. My mother turned her anger turned towards me and nothing I did was ever right. I left home when I was 16 and that’s when my journey to recovery began. I was so damaged that I thought if my mother died I would be liberated. Today, she is my closest friend and I love her dearly. It took many years and lots of hard work, tears, and pain to get to where we are now. A few years ago, I began giving seminars teaching others how to transform their own difficult relationships. I made an award winning comedic short about my mother's attempts to convince me to have a nose job called MY NOSE. It succeeded beyond expectations with many people relating to it on different levels. Due to the audience hunger for more I decided it was time to tell our story by going deeper by opening up my life for a more complex film. My mother agreed to allow cameras in and we’ve been shooting for the last several years.
We now need your help to
finish the film. Since the release of the trailer, several networks are looking forward
to seeing what mom and I have in store for them. An executive at HBO
wrote, "You have a great style and
infectious on camera presence and your mother is a force." They await the
After years of working with several devoted young talented people and primarily self-financing, the production is 200K away from its finish and release to the world. We are planning on spreading the word everywhere. Who doesn't have a mother? Who doesn't have issues with critical people?
HOW YOUR MONEY WILL HELP
Your support will help us finish the film. We have been shooting for eight years and have been prepping to start editing. We need the funds to bring on a great editor and all the other costs related to post and distribution. We will also be doing some final shooting as we are editing.
Please note that in this economy, funds are tight and it is very difficult to get grants for personal films. We can't do this without you!! Please consider helping in anyway you can including spreading the word.
We have incentives at different levels. Please make a contribution of any size now. Get your name down there as a backer and join our effort, campaign and community. Let's get this film done so we can inspire and help others who are suffering from unresolved relationships with a critical parent or loved one.
Here's a breakdown of how we plan to use the funds:
1. Pay for equipment including hard drives, editing system
2. Pay for editor
3. Pay for composer
4. Pay for film music rights (world release)
5. Pay for colorist
6. Pay for animator
7. Pay for sound design and mix
8. Pay for online editing session
9. Pay for various outputs
10. Pay for editing various versions of the film for as many different outlets as possible: Theatrical, Domestic Broadcast, International Broadcast
11. Pay for marketing and press
12. Pay for subtitling
13. Pay for film festival entries
Documentaries are non-commercial films and although if successful they could have enormous impact on society, financially they are similar to non-profit endeavors. Most people, like myself, produce documentaries out of passion and a need to communicate a story. We do not do this because we believe there is a big pot of gold at the end. Our reward is measured by the reaction of the audience and impact it has. That is why distribution is so important and your funds are so needed to get us there.
WITH YOUR DONATION WE WILL BE ABLE TO:
-Reach millions across the globe through film festivals, a targeted theatrical release, international and national television broadcasts, educational distribution, online distribution, and corporate, organizations and community screenings.
-Act as a tool in healing and transforming the lives of those involved in abusive parent-child relationships.
-Provide awareness of unique seminars and forums that can be utilized when dealing with difficult relationships and their effects.
·Provide inspiration and hope that changes for the better can occur even in the most damaging situations.
MY NOSE: THE BIGGER VERSION will have an impact on families everywhere. For those who have been victims of abusive parent-child relationships, this film will serve as an active tool to learn and heal.
WHY MY NOSE: THE BIGGER VERSION WILL SUCCEED?
Based on the success of the short film, the overwhelming reaction from the public and positive press we've received, it's apparent there is already an audience for the message and story this film will convey.
As a matter of fact, as a result of the popular response to the film, I developed “The Seven Healing Tools” teaching people how to deal with critical parents and people in their life. MY NOSE: THE BIGGER VERSION explores the depths of this abusive mother-daughter relationship, and sheds hope of relationship transformations.

Do you want to be an outreach partner? Are you a company, a community and organization and love the film? Contact us and we can brainstorm about partnering together. And of course, we need your help in broadcasting the Kickstarter campaign!.
CAN WE EXCEED THE GOAL?
Absolutely, yes! If we surpass our $50,000 goal , it would not only be a dream come true, but it would allow us to finish the film sooner and make it a better film. It would cover more of our post-production costs and some final shooting.
YOU WANT TO PLAY AN EVEN LARGER ROLE ON THE FILM
For $50,000 you get a Co-Executive Producer credit. There is an Executive Producer credit at $60,000. Your name will appear in the credits for US festivals, Theatrical and television and on IMDB.
