Who are we?
We are Nic and Whit of High Camp and we believe that nothing completes a day’s adventure like a celebratory drink. We became adventure buddies when Whit moved from Montana to San Francisco with a surfboard and a mountain bike. At the time, Nic was working in the outdoor industry and conceived an idea. Whit, an engineer by trade, took an interest in the project and began adding his own style to the design. After perfecting the concept during countless dawn patrols, a handshake took place and High Camp was born.
Big thank you to all of our stars!

Where did this idea start?
It was the last camping trip of the Season. Nic and his brothers were sitting around the campfire and to celebrate the occasion they opened a bottle of Laphroaig 18. Coincidentally, Nic and his older brother, Tony, each pulled out a mini mason jar to serve as a campfire scotch glass. Meanwhile, their youngest brother Vinnie disappointingly resorted to using his coffee mug. Thus, the aha moment came to be - it was time to bring the bar glass to the backcountry.
What is High Camp?
High Camp is the bridge between the craft beverage market and the outdoors. Our products provide a clever solution to transporting and consuming spirits in any outdoor environment. We create a richer outdoor drinking experience that preserves your favorite spirits.
Our mission at High Camp is to craft a drinking experience worthy of your adventure. The Firelight Flask is our first adventure, but certainly not our last. Our goal is to inspire adventurers to keep glass and plastic out of the outdoors, one drink at a time.
We need your help to raise money for our first production run. Up until now, we have poured all of our own money and resources into research and development: 3-D printers, CAD programs, graphic design contractors, product photographers, videographers, brand consultants, market analysis, and our tooling deposit… now we need money to purchase the minimum order quantity for our production run. Most importantly, we see the Kickstarter community as key to our overall success as a brand.
We believe that this diverse community of creatives and early-adopters is the best venue to validate our idea. The “crowd” is equally as important as the “fund” and we look forward to interacting with the Kickstarter community during our campaign.

Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter and we have gotten as far as possible into the production to ensure uncompromised quality and a timely delivery. We began meeting with manufacturers in 2016 and we quickly vetted suppliers who were either unable or unwilling to invest in the development resources needed for the technical demands of this project.
Since January 2017, we have been working directly with factory managers to work through the technical aspects of our design. In addition, we are partnered with a sourcing professional with decades of experience to help us navigate this new territory.
We placed our first production investment in May 2017 so that we could shorten the timeline between our Kickstarter campaign and the product delivery. This August we visited our factory in China to ensure our molds are ready to go for production as soon as our campaign is funded. Good news, everything looks great and on-schedule.
Obviously, there are unforeseeable circumstances that could delay us, and we have padded our timeline just in case.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
