This project is to fund a print run of my graphic novel, The Nowhere Man. Click here to read the beginning of the story online.
The Nowhere Man is the story of a man named Richard who dies and finds himself in an afterlife that bears no resemblance to anything he's been told to expect. There's no heaven, no hell, no God or Satan, nobody to tell him what he's supposed to be doing. He is in a place called The Dreamtime; a strange, a surreal landscape of the subconscious where dreams are real, and the things inside your head manifest. Along the way, Richard meets gods, shamans, and other beings. The Nowhere Man straddles the genres of action/adventure, introspective literature, and horror.
The book is already done, and I've been selling it in minicomics format at local comics conventions, but I would like to print it in larger paperback form, and that's what this project is all about. I put a lot of heart into the original artwork. It's big, and I worked really hard to make it come out the way it looked in my head. A lot of those subtleties are lost at minicomics size. So my plan is to make an 8.5 inch square book with about 100 pages, and I need your help to make it happen.
Risks and challenges
There really aren't too many risks since the book is already done. The only thing left to do is print it, and I plan to use the local printer I have been using to print my minis. I have an established relationship with this printer, and they are within walking distance of my house. Also, I have limited the number of books to 100, which is a small number that I'm certain I can fulfill. In my spreadsheets, I've accounted for possible fluctuations in the costs of printing and shipping that may occur over the next few months. I've done everything possible to minimize the risks on this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
