Private investigator Race McCloud gets tossed into dumpsters on a nightly basis while searching Westside City for the mysterious crime-fighting vigilante known only as Green Suit Jacket Man. Junior secret agent Cookie McCloud kicks butts, aces tests, and is all-around awesome as the 15 year-old star of Perfect Academy, the training division of an elite government task force code-named Project: Perfect. Oil, meet water.
Cookie is horrified when her Perfect Agent parents, Dirk and Skyler, pluck her out of school and drop her into Uncle Race's run-down office for "babysitting" while they go on assignment, and Race isn't so thrilled about it either. Before they know it, Dirk and Skyler and Race's other two Perfect Agent siblings have vanished and Race and Cookie are on the run, pursued by Project: Perfect operatives who want to capture Cookie and dispose of Race. The pair have no choice but to turn to Green Suit Jacket Man for help, and with his reluctant support the mismatched duo embark upon a globe-spanning search for the missing McClouds that finds them pitted against challenges both fearsome and ridiculous, including a monstrous werewolf, club-hopping vampires, a reborn jungle queen, and a living stone idol with a love for pop-culture trivia. Through it all, the pair must figure out why Project: Perfect is so desperate to capture Cookie, how to start acting like partners and, most of all... how to be a family.
THE UNLIKELY ADVENTURE OF RACE McCLOUD, PRIVATE EYE is a comic book style adventure/comedy and a family-friendly night at the theatre. RACE McCLOUD has made two prior appearances on the New York stage, once as part of the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival and then for a two-week limited engagement at the American Theatre of Actors. This Kickstarter project appropriately enough will "kick off" the next phase in both the journey of Race and of RACE, as funds raised here will be used not to finance a new production but instead to finance a backer's audition that will help the playwright and creative team find new investors and producing partners who believe as strongly as they do in the potential of RACE McCLOUD. By helping us reach our easily attainable goal of $2000.00 you are assuring that RACE McCLOUD will have earned the chance to legitimately compete with the big boys of New York theatre, and that a very long creative journey will not fall short just before reaching the finish line.
