Manju Rama is more fun with more people. For maximum fun 5 or more player is recommended although a minimum of 2 players can play the game.

Your objective is to get most cards in hand, You will be dealt 5 cards in the begining. Every round you can either exchange one of your card with the top card of the deck or any single card from the discard pile(if there are cards in the discard pile). The other option you have is to claim. You select any 3 cards from your hand and claim that those 3 cards are invincible and is open to challenges. You must not show your card before somebody challenges you. If somebody challenges you with 3 cards, both you and the challenger reveal cards at the same time and determine who wins that challenge. Whoever wins the challenge gets to keep a card from either the top card of the deck or one from the discard pile. If no one challenges, you gain a card without hassle. You must claim or challenge to win, as that is the only way to increase your card count. Nothing happens in a draw. If you loose the challenge and possess more than 8 cards in your hand, you discard a single card. If someone has 10 cards, that will be the last round and will stop after the last player takes his turn. 

This is not a whole round but you get the idea!

Your objective is to acquire more cards than any other players at the end. If there is a draw at card count, (ex: two players have 11 cards) then those players add all the base points of their cards and decide who has the most point. 

Start the game by dealing 5 cards to each player. The players should not reveal the cards to anyone also they should keep track of how many cards they have.

-- Each turn -- Exchange or Claim -- 

Each Turn, you can either exchange or claim. If you have already exchanged a card you cannot claim and viceversa. 

If you are exchanging, you can select a card from top of the deck or one from the discard pile, whatever you reject goes to the discard pile. That is how the discard pile increases in size. 

After claim, wait 30 seconds if someone is challenging you. If no one challenges, you automatically win your claim and get to keep a card. Your option of choosing is still the same(top deck card and discard pile). If you loose the challenge and have 8 or more cards, you give up one card in the discard pile. 

If multiple people challenges you, whoever is the fastest will be the challenger. If there is confusion among who was the fastest to challenge, then whoever is the claimer can choose whose challenge he will accept.

Exchange makes your hand better, But claiming(and challenging) takes you one step further to win...


Every card has base points, But some cards(ex- Weapon, Light, Magic) has combos and some cards(God, Heavy) can kill combos, While challenging these attributes help you. You cannot add base points on top of Combos while challenging.


 There are 7 types of Manju and 7 types of Rama cards as of now. Each type consists of combo cards, combo killers and special cards. There are 84 cards as of now(each card is there 6 times)

A Weapon card of Rama(Crook) has a base point of 2(the circle with 3 dash). The base point cannot be killed in challenges and that is the minimum you will get while challenging. If you have 2 Weapons it is a combo and gives you 5. If you have two different types of Weapon(also a combo) it gives you 6. You cannot add base point on top of combo. 

Top left of every card, you also have the base points and combos printed, so it's a little easier when challenging.


Heavy(Katana) kills any Rama combo and God(Horus and Ra) kills Light and Throw combos, They are the combo killers. Hunger and shield are special cards and their powers doesn't count as combo.

The duel is between 1 Heavy + 2 Light combo vs 1 God + 1 Shield + 1 Magic 

1st player(left side) has base point of 0 for Heavy(it didn't kill any combo of 2nd player, as 2nd player does not possess any rama combo) and a combo of 10 points for Light(2 different Lights give you 10) a total of 10.

2nd player(right) has a base point of 0.5 for God(it also didn't kill any combo of 2nd player, as this God kills Throw only), 0 for Shield( opponent has 0 rama card=0x2), 1 base point for Magic, a total of 1.5.

Player 1 wins and acquires any card of his choice.

In this duel, Player 2s God(Horus) killed the Light combo, so player 1 only gets the base points for Light cards and that's why player 1 has 2.5 points vs 3 points of player 2.

How to play in a nutshell

This is a brief overview of the gameplay. To see how the scoring works and the more detailed rules of the game, please see the HOW IT WORKS section. 

STRETCH GOALS:

The first stretch goal will be posted if it meets the funding goal. I will give you a hint, It's either a Manju or Rama card.

DIY:

For people intersted in making Manju Rama themselves, This is a Link to the CDR(Corel Draw) file. Just find a shop that does laser cutting and get this cardstock paper from amazon or get any cardstock(between 180 and 250 gsm) and print it your self. We will also post a second Link to the remaining CDR file once the campaign ends(successfull or not).

SHIPPING?

We will rent a UFO, and personally deliver from door to door. 

Our friend suggested there are better ways than that. For now Shipping to USA is free and for international backers we have 2 reward tiers(barber and barberian) both being limited, we apologize for that. We have done fair amount of research in shipping and this our first campaign and we don't wanna promise and then unable to keep it. Having said that, if it is a successfull campaign, we will consider more international shipping. Also on a rare event of shipment comes back, we may charge additional shipping sending it again. If you agree, only then proceed with any of the rewards.

As a Backer are you getting something special?

There is this challenge of rewarding your backer and at the same time making shipping not complicated. So to make things simple our shipping item is always the game itself for any reward tier,for barber and barberian tiers, we will give you a random character(Manju or Rama) with an item and put your name on the first update as a super backer in addition to sending you the game. It will somewhat look like the image below.(names used are fictional and does not represent anyone we personally know).

Risks and challenges

This is just a card game, This is our first project in kickstarter and we really don't want it to be complicated. You support the campaign, in return we send you the game. Also we are not expecting a lot of pledge in this project, having said that if it blows our expectations, We will be using a fullfillment service.
