WEEK TWO

Youtube 21 second video of steering.

3/21/11 - You can click on some of these photos for a larger photo. We have the front wheels on their axles or spindles and the spindles are welded to kingpin, which are bicycle down tubes. Shannon found some linkages from a fork lift or something like that, which looked to be perfect for the tie rod and tie rod ends. So far so good. There remains a huge amount of work to be done.

Eric, Dave, Kimric, Victor and Shannon actually doing something.

Another shot of Steampunk Struts.
We all got in a discussion about Camber, Caster, Toe In, Ackermann Steering, Kingpin Inclination and so forth. Of course, I don't think any of us knew what we were talking about. They next day, after building the whole thing I looked it up. I made this brief summary page about it.  We'll just have to test the car to see how important any of these things are. Other team members feel the lack of differential will make us go in circles. I think the rear wheels will fall off.
